Swedish Bandy Champions
Swedish bandy champions () is a title held by the winners of the final of the highest Swedish bandy league played each year, Elitserien. The final is called ''Svenska bandyfinalen'' ("Swedish Bandy Final") and is played in March. From the 2007–08 season, Saturday replaced Sunday as the final date, but was changed back to Sunday again and again to Saturday in 2015 in 2010. In 2009 Eurosport 2 showed it for the 1st time. History The first final was held in 1907, when IFK Uppsala beat IFK Gävle with 4–1 in Boulognerskogen, Gävle. In 1912 two winners were declared, because no replay of the tied final could be played due to the weather. Venue The arena with the most finals is Stockholm Olympic Stadium in Stockholm (50 times), Söderstadion in Stockholm (23) and Studenternas IP (17). Studenternas IP is a multi-use stadium in Uppsala, Sweden and the home arena for the football clubs IK Sirius Fotboll on the men's side and IK Uppsala Fotboll on the women's and in bandy for IK Sirius in Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. Patrik Nilsson (born 15 March 1982) is a Swedish bandy player, currently with Sandvikens AIK in the Swedish Elitserien. Career Nilsson started playing bandy at Söderfors GoIF but left to play in the top division at Sandvikens AIK. He has played for the Swedish national bandy team. All of his appearances have been while he was a Sandvikens AIK player. Nilsson was a member of the Sandvikens AIK squads that won the Swedish Championship in the 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons and he was also a member of the Bandy World Cup winning squad in 2001–02 season. He was the top scorer in the 2006–07 and the 2007–08 top division seasons with 70 and 94 goals respectively. Edsbyns IF, is a bandy team from Edsbyn in Ovanåker Municipality in Sweden founded on 6 June 1909. The bandy section of the club was founded as late as in 1925 was formally made a club of its own on 28 June 2000. Edsbyns IF has played in the highest bandy league in Sweden from 1945–1969 and then again since 1971. History Edsbyns IF was founded in 1909.
