2007–08 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics – Round 4 – Women's Points Race
The fourth round of the women's points race of the 2007–08 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics took place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 16 February 2008. 45 athletes participated in the contest. Competition format A points race is a race in which all riders start together and the object is to earn points during sprints or to lap the bunch. The tournament consisted of two qualifying heats of 10 km (40 laps). The top twelve cyclist of each heat advanced to the 20 km final (80 laps). 2007–08 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics
The 2007–2008 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics was a multi race competition over a season of track cycling. The season began on 30 November 2007 and ended on 17 February 2008. The World Cup is organised by the UCI. The 2007–2008 series carried vital ranking points towards the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Gina Grain
Gina Grain (born June 16, 1974 in Lachine, Quebec) is a Canadian retired professional road and track cyclist. She won a silver medal in women' scratch at the 2006 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Bordeaux, France, and later represented her nation Canada at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Before retiring to focus on her personal life and kinesiology career and in 2010, Grain rode with a large number of U.S. and Canadian road racing teams, in addition to her short stint with the Hong Kong-registered Giant Pro Cycling in 2006. Racing career Grain started her professional road cycling career as part of her mountain bike fitness training program with the British Columbia Provincial Team. The Neva (russian: Нева́, ) is a river in northwestern Russia flowing from Lake Ladoga through the western part of Leningrad Oblast (historical region of Ingria) to the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. Louise Moriarty (born 22 December 1978) is an Irish racing cyclist from Dublin. She was the Irish National Time Trial Champion in 2006 and 2007. In 2008, Moriarty broke the national pursuit record at Newport Velodrome, Wales, setting a new time of 3:55.853, beating the old record of 3:59.194 by over three seconds. Kelly Druyts
Kelly Druyts (born 21 November 1989) is a Belgian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team . She finished in second place in the Belgian National Road Race Championships in 2010. She won a bronze medal in the scratch race at the 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and gold in the scratch race at the 2014 Championships. Kate Cullen, also known as Katie, (born 20 May 1977) is a Scottish racing cyclist from Edinburgh who won bronze in the points race at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Biography Cullen began cycling after she began a project whilst studying to become an Architect at the Glasgow School of Art. She hypothetically designed a velodrome and visited Manchester Velodrome, where she had a go at riding the track. Cullen enjoyed the experience so much she began cycling at Meadowbank Stadium once she had returned to Edinburgh.
