2007–08 Tulsa Golden Hurricane Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team represented the University of Tulsa in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's basketball during the 2007–08 season. Playing in Conference USA (C-USA) and led by third-year head coach Doug Wojcik, the Golden Hurricane finished the season with a 25–14 overall record and won the 2008 College Basketball Invitational – the first year of the tournament's existence. In C-USA play, the Golden Hurricane finished in sixth place with a 8–8 record. They advanced to the championship game of the 2008 C-USA tournament, where they lost to top-seeded Memphis, 77–51. Doug Wojcik
Frederick Douglas Wojcik (pronounced WO-jick) (born April 12, 1964) is an American college basketball coach, former player, and former Naval officer. Currently, he is an assistant coach for Tom Izzo at Michigan State University. An NCAA Division I head coach for nine years, Wojcik has averaged 20 wins per season while compiling an overall record of 178–121 (.595), and an overall conference record of 88–58 (.602). He is the winningest coach in the history of the University of Tulsa. He is a native of Wheeling, West Virginia. Career Early career In high school, Wojcik played at Wheeling Central Catholic High School under Skip Prosser, who went on to coach at Loyola University Maryland, Xavier University and Wake Forest University. Billy Ryan High School
Billy Ryan High School (Ryan or RHS) is a public high school located in east Denton, Texas. It is the second high school of the Denton Independent School District and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. The original building for the school was built in 1991 and was followed with an expansions in 1994, 2006, and 2008/2009 that added more space for the pre-existing technology and fine arts programs. Billy Ryan High School's cross district rivals are Denton High School and Guyer High School, along with the newly opened Braswell High School and the schools compete annually in various events but most notably, the annual football game named "Battle of The Volt" against Denton High, the "Crosstown Showdown" against Guyer High, and the yet unnamed competition against Braswell High. Florida Prep (FPA) is a private boarding and day school founded in 1961 by Jonathan Dwight, located in Melbourne, Florida.
