The 2007/2008 season of the Eerste Divisie began in August 2007 and will end in May 2008. New teams These teams were relegated from the Eredivisie at the start of the season: *RKC Waalwijk (17th position, relegated after playoffs) * ADO Den Haag (18th position) Final league standings Period winners The competition is divided into six periods ( nl, periode) of six matches each. The winner of each period ( nl, periodekampioen) qualifies for the playoffs at the end of the season. If the winner of a period has already won a prior period in the season, the second placed team in the period is awarded the playoff slot. If the second placed team has also won a prior period, no winner is called, and the playoff slot is decided by league standing at the end of the season. Football Club Volendam () is a professional Association football, football club based in Volendam, Netherlands. Ruud ter Heide (born 15 October 1982) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker. Career Born in Enschede, Overijssel, Ter Heide started his career with FC Twente. He made five appearances from 2001 until 2003. In the 2003–04 season, he played with German team Eintracht Nordhorn where he made 30 appearances and scored 24 goals. Gunter Thiebaut (born 12 January 1977) is a Belgian retired footballer who played as a striker. Club career Early career Thiebaut's professional career started at Lebbeke. Thiebaut was then signed by Eendracht Aalst in Summer 1998, a team that played in the First Division. After showing some great displays, he moved to Cypriot team Omonia Nicosia, and returned to Belgium after that. In Belgium he played for Dender, which was known as FC Denderleeuw at that time. Here, he showed his goalscoring capabilities. In the 2002–2003 season at Denderleeuw, Thiebaut was top-scorer in the Belgian Second Division. Jack Tuyp
Jacobus Johannes "Jack" Tuijp (born 23 August 1983) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his career with FC Volendam. The media often misconstrued his surname as ''Tuyp''. Tuijp, born in Volendam, started his football career at RKAV Volendam like many other footballers from the fishing village. In the 2002–03 season, he made his debut in professional football for FC Volendam. After two seasons he left for Groningen. There he made eleven league appearances in his first season, after which the club sent him on loan to his old club for the next two seasons. After this, FC Volendam signed the striker on a permanent basis. He became a key player in the team and became the top goalscorer of the second-tier Eerste Divisie three times. VBV De Graafschap () is a professional football club from Doetinchem, Netherlands, playing in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football. It was formed on 1 February 1954 and they play their home games at the De Vijverberg stadium. The stadium was opened on 12 August 2000 and stands on the site of the club's old pitch. The club name is Dutch for "The County". They are nicknamed ''Superboeren'' ("Super Farmers"). The Eredivisie 2008–09 is the 53rd season of Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. PSV were the reigning champions. The season began on 29 August 2008 with a game between Vitesse Arnhem and FC Groningen and ended on 10 May 2009. A total of 18 teams take part in the league, consisting of 16 who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the Eerste Divisie. HFC Haarlem
HFC Haarlem was a Dutch football club from the city of Haarlem, established in 1889 and dissolved in 2010. The club won the Eredivisie in 1946 and reached five Cup finals, winning in 1902 and 1912. Haarlem reached the second round of the 1982–83 UEFA Cup, losing to Spartak Moscow of the Soviet Union. Haarlem was declared bankrupt on 25 January 2010, and excluded from professional football with immediate effect. AGOVV () is a Dutch association football club based in Apeldoorn. It was established on 25 February 1913. The club played in professional football from 1954 to 1971 and from 2003 to 2013.
