The 2007–08 season covers the period from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008. It marks the 125th year of football played by Bristol Rovers F.C. and their 81st season in The Football League. Paul Trollope
Paul Jonathan Trollope (born 3 June 1972) is a football coach and former professional footballer, who played as a midfielder. He is currently joint-assistant manager of Luton Town Born in England, he represents Wales internationally. As a player, he began his career with Swindon Town in 1989, but made his name at Torquay United between 1992 and 1995. He then transferred to Derby County, before signing with Fulham in 1997. After five years he moved on to Northampton Town via Coventry City. He joined his final club, Bristol Rovers, in 2004, before retiring as a player in 2007. He played for Wales at international level. While still a player, he was appointed caretaker manager of Bristol Rovers in 2005. Aaron Lescott
Aaron Anthony Lescott (born 2 December 1978 in Birmingham, West Midlands) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Lescott played at a number of Football League clubs, most notably a six-year spell at Bristol Rovers and a three-year spell at Stockport County. A product of the Aston Villa Academy, he is the older brother of former Manchester City, Aston Villa, and England defender Joleon Lescott. Playing career Lescott started his career as a trainee with Aston Villa making only one first team appearance for them (in the FA Cup third round tie against Hull City). Unable to establish himself at Villa, he had a loan spell with Lincoln City in 2000, before signing for Sheffield Wednesday in October of the same year for a fee of £100,000. Kieron Dyer
Kieron Courtney Dyer (born 29 December 1978) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He was recently the U23s manager at Ipswich Town. Born in Ipswich, Dyer played youth football for his home club Ipswich Town before going on to make nearly 100 league appearances for the club's first team. He was sold to Newcastle United for £6 million, at the time the highest fee paid for an Ipswich player, and made nearly 200 appearances for Newcastle between 1999 and 2007. A move for the same fee to West Ham United followed, but Dyer suffered from various injuries, restricting him to 30 league appearances in four seasons. Mike Green (goalkeeper)
Michael John Green (born 23 July 1989 in Bristol) is an English footballer. Green has spent the majority of his career with Bristol Rovers including loan spells at various non-league sides including Gloucester City and Cirencester Town. He plays as a goalkeeper and signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2006, having graduated from their Centre of Excellence at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, earning himself a place in the Bristol Rovers squad for the 2006–07 season. He has had loan spells at Mangotsfield United in the Southern League Premier Division and Clevedon Town. Steve Book
Steven Kim Book (born 7 July 1969) is an English former professional football goalkeeper who is currently employed as the goalkeeping coach at Cheltenham Town. Book represented a number of clubs in the English football league system during a career which began in 1988 at Welton Rovers and concluded with a two-year stint as player-goalkeeping coach at Cheltenham Town between 2010 and 2012. He then retired from playing to focus on coaching at Cheltenham Town. Craig Disley
Craig Edward Disley (born 24 August 1981) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is assistant manager at Cleethorpes Town. Primarily a box-to-box central midfielder, he began his professional career at Mansfield Town in 1999 where he started as a youngster, and established himself in the "Stags" first team in the 2001–02 season, helping them gain promotion into the Second Division. He then decided to join Bristol Rovers in July 2004, and helped the "Gas" to win promotion out of League Two in the 2007 Football League Two play-off Final. Memorial Stadium (Bristol)
The Memorial Stadium, also commonly known by its previous name of the Memorial Ground, is a sports ground in Bristol, England, and is the home of Bristol Rovers F.C. It opened in 1921 dedicated to the memory of local rugby union players killed during the First World War, and was the home of Bristol Bears rugby club until they moved to Ashton Gate in 2014. History The site was created on an area of land called Buffalo Bill's Field, after Colonel William "Buffalo Bill" Cody's Wild West Show was held there between 28 September and 3 October 1891. Lennie Lawrence
Robin Michael Lawrence (born 12 December 1947) is an English former football manager, player and football consultant who is non-executive director at EFL League Two side Hartlepool United. Lawrence was a semi-professional at Croydon, Carshalton Athletic and Sutton United before becoming caretaker manager of Plymouth Argyle in 1978. He went on to manage Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough (during their debut season in the Premier League), Bradford City, Luton Town and Grimsby Town.
