2007–08 ACF Fiorentina Season
The 2007–08 season was ACF Fiorentina's 82nd season in Italian football in their existence and their 70th season in the first-tier of Italian football, Serie A. Having finished 6th the previous season with a tally of 58 points, ''La Viola'' earned qualification into the first round of the 2007–08 UEFA Cup. The 2007–08 season was a very successful one for the ''Viola''. They reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup where they were beaten on penalties by Rangers and finished fourth in Serie A ahead of Milan, thus qualifying for the 2008–09 UEFA Champions League. ACF Fiorentina
ACF Fiorentina, commonly referred to as Fiorentina (), is an Italian professional football club based in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The original team was founded by a merger in August 1926, while the actual club was refounded in August 2002 following bankruptcy. Fiorentina have played at the top level of Italian football for the majority of their existence; only four clubs have played in more Serie A seasons. Fiorentina has won two Italian Championships, in 1955–56 and again in 1968–69, as well as six Coppa Italia trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana. On the European stage, Fiorentina won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1960–61 and lost the final one year later. 2008–09 UEFA Champions League
The 2008–09 UEFA Champions League was the 54th edition of Europe's premier club football tournament and the 17th edition under the current UEFA Champions League format. The final was played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 27 May 2009. It was the eighth time the European Cup final has been held in Italy and the fourth time it has been held at the Stadio Olimpico. The final was contested by the defending champions, Manchester United, and Barcelona, who had last won the tournament in 2006. Barcelona won the match 2–0, with goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi, securing The Treble in the process. Jan Hable (born 4 January 1989) is a Czech footballer, who plays for Baník Ostrava. Career Jan started his career at FC Hradec Králové before moving on 2 June 2007 to Serie A club, ACF Fiorentina. Ondřej Mazuch
Ondřej Mazuch (; born 15 March 1989) is a Czech professional footballer who last played as a centre back in FK Teplice. Career Mazuch started his career at 1. FC Brno before moving to Serie A club ACF Fiorentina on 2 June 2007 for €2.8 million. After two years spent mostly with the under-19 team, on 25 June 2009 Mazuch was loaned to Belgian club R.S.C. Anderlecht. On 29 April 2010 R.S.C. Anderlecht signed the 21-year-old defender on a permanent deal, who was recently on loan from ACF Fiorentina. The player has signed a four-year deal. Cristiano Lupatelli (born 21 June 1978) is an Italian professional football coach and former player who is the goalkeeping coach of club Juventus U23. As a player, he was a goalkeeper; he is known for his trademark goatee and sideburns with his bald head. Club career Lupatelli was born in Perugia. He won a scudetto while playing for A.S. Fabio Liverani (; born 29 April 1976) is an Italian football manager and former midfielder, who was most recently in charge of Cagliari. He made 288 Serie A appearances across 12 seasons, representing Perugia, Lazio, Fiorentina and Palermo. He was the first black player for the Italy national team, playing three matches from 2001 to 2006. In 2013, Liverani began his managerial career with a brief spell at top-flight club Genoa. Pablo Daniel "Dani" Osvaldo (; born 12 January 1986) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. Born and raised in Argentina, Osvaldo represented the Italy national team internationally. Alessandro Potenza (born 8 March 1984) is an Italian football coach and a former player who played as a defender. Club career Inter Milan Potenza came from the youth system of Inter Milan, and was called up to the first team squad for the 2002–03 Serie A season. Alessandro Gamberini (; born 27 August 1981) is an Italian former former professional footballer who played as a central defender. He is working as assistant coach for Virtus Verona. Marco Donadel (born 21 April 1983) is an Italian football coach and a former midfielder. Club career Milan Donadel is a youth product of Milan, playing for the youth side between 1998 and 2002, winning the Torneo di Viareggio in 1999 and 2001 before being promoted to the senior side. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities.
