2007 İstanbul Cup
The 2007 İstanbul Cup was a tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts. It was the third edition of the İstanbul Cup, and was part of the WTA Tier III tournaments of the 2007 WTA Tour. It was held in İstanbul from 21 through 26 May 2007. WTA Tier III Tournaments
The WTA Tier III tournaments were Women's Tennis Association tennis third-level tournaments held from 1990 until the end of the 2008 season. The line-up of events varied over the years due to tournaments being promoted, demoted or cancelled. From 2009, most Tier III and Tier IV tournaments from previous seasons became WTA International Tournaments owing to a category change. The main reason for the changes was to ease the pressure on players in terms of the number of tournaments that they were required to play. Pemra Özgen
Pemra Özgen (born 8 May 1986) is a Turkish tennis player. Özgen has won 18 singles and 23 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 26 August 2019, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 182. On 14 October 2013, she peaked at No. 179 in the WTA doubles rankings. Playing for Turkey in Fed Cup, Özgen has a win–loss record of 40–44. Özgen is an alumna of Istanbul Bilgi University. Catalina Castaño
Catalina Castaño Álvarez (; born 7 July 1979) is a retired Colombian professional tennis player. Her highest singles ranking of 35 she achieved in 2006. In her career, she won ten titles on the ITF Circuit, six in singles, as well as one doubles title on tournaments of the WTA Tour and the WTA 125K series, respectively. Çağla Büyükakçay (; born 28 September 1989) is a Turkish professional tennis player. She has won 11 singles and 15 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In September 2016, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 60. She won her first title on the WTA Tour at her home tournament in Istanbul. On 29 February 2016, she peaked at world No. 111 in the WTA doubles rankings. Playing for Turkey at the Billie Jean King Cup, Büyükakçay has a win–loss record of 39–30. Kateryna Volodymyrivna Volodko (née Bondarenko; uk, Катерина Володимирівна Бондаренко; born 8 August 1986) is a tennis player from Ukraine. She was the doubles champion in 2008 at the Australian Open, partnering her sister Alona Bondarenko. Kateryna is the younger sister of professional tennis players Valeria and Alona. Jelena Kostanić Tošić (née Kostanić; born 6 July 1981) is a retired tennis player from Croatia. On 26 July 2004, she reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 32. Vania King (born February 3, 1989) is an American former tennis player. A former top-ten doubles player, King won both the Wimbledon and US Open women's doubles titles in 2010 with partner Yaroslava Shvedova, with whom she also reached the final of the 2011 US Open.
