The 2007 World's Strongest Man was the 30th edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Mariusz Pudzianowski from Poland. It was his fourth and record tying title. Sebastian Wenta from Poland finished second, and Terry Hollands from the United Kingdom finished third after finishing seventh the previous year. 2006 champion Phil Pfister from the United States finished fourth. Mark Westaby
Mark Westaby (born 17 April 1965) is a British strongman competitor, notable for being a repeat competitor at the World's Strongest Man. Biography Julian Mark Westaby was born in 1965 in Healaugh, near Tadcaster. He attended Tadcaster Grammar School before becoming a farmer. Mark Westaby's entry into the world of strength athletics was unlike any other of his counterparts. Rather than come into the sport from another sporting career, such as powerlifting, field athletics or weightlifting, or have been a focussed strength athlete, Mark simply wandered across a local strongman contest in 2003, entered it and won. His rise to the highest levels of British strength athletics was fast and by 2006 he had won Adrian Rollinson's Might Midlander contest. Magnus Samuelsson
Magnus Samuelsson (born December 21, 1969), is a Swedish actor, former strongman and winner of the 1998 World's Strongest Man contest in Morocco. He has also made it to the World's Strongest Man podium 5 times and the finals 10 times and is regarded as one of the best strongmen in history. Kristinn Óskar Haraldsson
Kristinn Óskar ''Boris'' Haraldsson (born 16 March 1980) is an Icelandic strongman competitor. As well as being a multiple holder of Iceland's Strongest Man, he has competed on multiple occasions at the World's Strongest Man. Biography Boris Haraldsson was born in 1980 in Reykjavík in Iceland. At the age of 21 he placed third in Iceland's Strongest Man and despite being absent from the podium from 2002 to 2004 he went on to become four-time champion from 2005 to 2008. These wins in one of the most prestigious national competitions in the strength athletics world qualified him for the World's Strongest Man on each occasion. However, in 2008 he was unable to attend and was out for most of that season due to a serious food poisoning incident and knee surgery. Janne Virtanen
Janne Virtanen (born 16 November 1969) is a Finnish former strongman who won the World's Strongest Man championship in 2000. He was runner-up in 1999 and finished third in 2001. Jimmy Marku (Albanian language, Albanian: ''Xhimi Marku''; born 27 August 1974) is an Albanian-born British people, British strongman (strength athlete), strongman competitor. Early life Jimmy Marku was born 27 August 1974 in Lac, Albania. He then moved to England where he pursued his strongman career. Dave Ostlund
David Ostlund (born May 7, 1981) is an American professional strongman competitor. He grew up in Edina, Minnesota and attended Edina High School. Ostlund was a member of the Edina track and field team and competed in the shot put and discus events. It was his weight training for track that initially sparked his interest in the sport of strongman. Ostlund began training with rocks and tires in addition to his weight training and in May 2001, he entered his first strongman contest in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. He was placed first and has been competing regularly ever since. Ostlund attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where he continued his weight and strongman training. He graduated in 2003 and worked for about a year as a real estate appraiser. In 2004, he won his pro card at The Strongest in the West contest in Eagle, Idaho. Florian Trimpl (born 9 July 1979) is a German strongman competitor and entrant to the World's Strongest Man competition on multiple occasions. Biography Florian Trimpl began competing in strongman tournaments in 2004 at the age of 24.
