2007 Women’s European Volleyball Championship
The 2007 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 25th edition of the event, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted in Charleroi and Hasselt of Belgium and Luxembourg City of Luxembourg from 20 to 30 September 2007. Participating teams Format The tournament was played in three different stages. In the first stage, the sixteen participants were divided in four groups (A, B, C and D) of four teams each. A single round-robin format was played within each group to determine the teams' group position; the three best teams of each group (total of 12 teams) progressed to the second stage. The second stage of the tournament consisted of two groups of six teams each. As the first stage match results amongst the teams which advanced to this stage also counted, the two groups had been predetermined, one group formed by groups A and C teams while the other was formed by groups B and D teams. Central European Summer Time (CEST), sometimes referred to as Central European Daylight Time (CEDT), is the standard clock time observed during the period of summer daylight-saving in those European countries which observe Central European Time (CET; UTC+01:00) during the other part of the year. Antonella Del Core
Antonella Del Core (born 5 November 1980 in Naples, Italy) is an Italian professional volleyball player. She plays for Italy women's national volleyball team. She has competed in the 2004 and 2012 Summer Olympics. She is tall. She won the Best Server award of the 2013–14 CEV Champions League and won the title with the Russian club Dinamo Kazan. Career Del Core won with the Russian club Dinamo Kazan the 2013–14 CEV Champions League held in Baku, Azerbaijan, defeating 3-0 the home owners Rabita Baku in the semifinals and 3-0 to the Turkish VakıfBank İstanbul in the final. Eleonora Lo Bianco
Eleonora Lo Bianco (born 22 December 1979) is an Italian volleyball player. Career Born in Borgomanero, in her youth she played in the Omegna volleyball team. In the season 1998/1999 she was recruited to the ''Club Italia'', a special team organized by the Italian volleyball Federation to train young players. After that experience she played for several teams in the Italian woman Volleyball League. She is 172 cm tall and weighs 70 kg. Lo Bianco played with her national team at the 2014 World Championship. Francesca Ferretti (born 15 February 1984 in Reggio Emilia) is an Italian professional volleyball player who plays as a setter. As a member of the Italy women's national volleyball team she played in many international competitions (Olympic Games, FIVB World Championship, FIVB World Cup, FIVB World Grand Prix, European Championships) and is a World Cup and European Championship winner. Jenny Barazza (born July 24, 1981) is an Italian volleyball player. She was born in Codogné, Veneto. She began to play in her native town. She scored her first success with Foppapedretti Bergamo, with which she was two times national champion (2004 and 2006), European champion (2005), won a CEV Cup (2004) and one National Cup (2006). Martina Guiggi (born 1 May 1984) is an Italian volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker. She competed at the 2008 and 2016 Olympics and won the 2007 Women's European Volleyball Championship and 2007 FIVB Women's World Cup.
