2007 Swedish Football Division 1
The 2007 Division 1 was contested by 28 teams divided into two groups geographically. Assyriska FF and Qviding FIF won their respective groups, and were thereby promoted to Superettan for the 2008 season. Second place teams FC Väsby United and Ängelholms FF were also promoted after having each won their playoffs against teams from Superettan. League tables North South Young Player Teams of the Year At the end of each Division 1 season an all-star game is played called "Morgondagens Stjärnor" (English: "The Stars Of Tomorrow"). The two teams playing against each other consist of the best young players from each of the two leagues. Ettan Fotboll, or simply Ettan ( en, the one), which also is its common name in everyday speech, is the third level in the Swedish football league system and consists of 32 Swedish football teams. It was formerly simply known as ''Division 1''. Division 1 was the second tier from 1987 to 1999, but was replaced by Superettan in 2000. It was reestablished for the 2006 season as the third tier below Superettan. History The old Division 1 replaced Division 2 as the second highest level in 1987 and consisted of two separate leagues with 14 teams each, Norra (Northern) and Södra (Southern), except for the 1991 and 1992 seasons which comprised 32 teams in four leagues, adding Östra (Eastern) and Västra (Western). Vasalunds IF is a Swedish football club based in Solna, Stockholm. The club is affiliated with Stockholms Fotbollförbund. History Vasalund was formed in 1934 and play in the Swedish Third Division: Division 1 Norra. In 2002 the club merged with Essinge IK and changed its name to ''Vasalund/Essinge IF''. IFK Malmö football team is a section of Swedish sports club IFK Malmö based in Malmö. The club is affiliated with Skånes Fotbollförbund and play their home games at Malmö Stadion. Falu FK is a Swedish football club located in Falun in Dalarna County. Background Falu FK was founded on 27 February 2006 following a joint initiative of the football sections of Falu BS, Slätta SK und Korsnäs IF FK clubs.
