2007 North Queensland Cowboys Season
The 2007 North Queensland Cowboys season was the 13th in the club's history. Coached by Graham Murray and captained by Johnathan Thurston, they competed in the NRL's Telstra Premiership. They finished the regular season in 3rd place, falling one game short of the Grand Final after losing to the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Season summary The Cowboys started the 2007 NRL season strongly, winning their first four games. By the halfway point of the season, they were placed inside the top four, despite losing key forward Luke O'Donnell for the season in Round 4. In August, News Limited sold its majority stake in the club to the Cowboys Leagues Club for just over $2 million. 2007 NRL Season
The 2007 NRL season was the one hundredth season of professional rugby league football club competition in Australia, and the tenth run by the National Rugby League. Sixteen teams contested the NRL's 2007 Telstra Premiership, and with the inclusion of a new team, the Gold Coast Titans, the competition was the largest run since the 1999 NRL season. The Melbourne Storm were the minor premiers in 2007, six points clear of second-placed Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. The Storm eventually ran out 34–8 winners in the 2007 NRL Grand Final to claim the premiership. However, they were subsequently stripped of both their minor premiership and premiership titles on 22 April 2010, after they were found to be guilty of breaching the league's salary cap. Ty Williams
Ty Williams (born 27 November 1980) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. He played for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. North Queensland Cowboys Once scored 42 tries in a season as a centre for the Innisfail Leprechauns in the Cairns and district a-grade comp. Upon being signed with the Cowboys, he really developed his game and by the end of 2005 he was one of the NRL's best wingers. He played for the Cowboys in the 2005 NRL grand final which was lost to the Wests Tigers. Sam Faust
Sam Faust (24 September 1984 – 23 May 2011) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League competition. Playing career Faust spent time at the St. George Illawarra Dragons under coach Steve Price. He won the Jersey Flegg best and fairest award in 2003 and the coach's award in 2004 before spending 2005 with the top 25 man squad. However Faust could not break into first grade and he returned to Queensland, joining the North Queensland Cowboys. He made his first grade debut for the Cowboys in Round 10 of the 2007 season against Parramatta. He went on to play in 13 matches that season and another ten in 2008. Scott Christopher Minto (born 6 August 1971) is an English former professional footballer and sports television pundit. Justin Smith (born 9 August 1977 in Narromine, New South Wales) is an Australian former rugby league footballer. A utility player, Smith played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons, South Sydney and the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL).
