2007 NHK Trophy
The 2007 NHK Trophy was the final event of six in the 2007–08 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Sendai City Gymnasium in Sendai on November 28 – December 2. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Ice Dancing
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Couples and friends would skate waltzes, marches, and other social dances. The first steps in ice dance were similar to those used in ballroom dancing. Vaughn Chipeur
Vaughn Chipeur (born December 21, 1984) is a former Canadian figure skater and figure-skating coach. He currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta. Chipeur is also the Figure Skate Technical Representative and Brand Ambassador foTRUE Temper Sports He is the 2009 & 2010 Canadian silver medalist and won the bronze medal at the 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy. Chipeur began skating at age six. At the 2010 Canadian Figure Skating Championships, he was nominated to represent Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He placed 23rd in the men's event. On July 15, 2010, Chipeur announced his retirement from competitive figure skating. Kensuke Nakaniwa
is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time Ondrej Nepela Memorial champion, the 2003 Winter Universiade bronze medalist, and a three-time Japan national medalist. He finished in the top ten at three Four Continents Championships. Personal life Kensuke Nakaniwa was born on October 15, 1981 in Fukuoka, Japan. Career In the 1999–2000 season, Nakaniwa won a bronze medal on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series and placed 13th at the 2000 World Junior Championships. In the 2002–03 season, Nakaniwa made his Grand Prix debut and competed at his first senior ISU Championship, the 2003 Four Continents, where he finished 11th. Andrei Griazev
Andrei Vladimirovich Griazev (russian: Андрей Владимирович Грязев; born 26 July 1985) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2005 Cup of China and 2007 Cup of Russia bronze medalist, 2004 World Junior champion, and 2007 Russian national champion. Personal life Griazev was born 26 July 1985 in Perm, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. Career Griazev began skating at the age of four. At the age of 11, he moved from Perm to Saint Petersburg to train with coach Alexei Mishin. He trained at the Yubileyny Sports Palace. During his time training with Mishin, Griazev learned the triple Axel jump. Griazev placed 14th at the 2002 Junior Worlds, after which Mishin sent him to work with his wife, Tatiana Mishina. Sergei Davydov (figure Skater)
Sergei Dmitriyevich Davydov (russian: Серге́й Дмитриевич Давыдов, born 2 March 1979 in Rostov-on-Don) is a former competitive figure skater who represented Belarus and Russia. For Belarus, he is the 2006 Cup of China silver medalist, two-time Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and eight-time (2001–2008) Belarusian national champion. He competed at two Olympics and placed as high as 7th at the World Championships (2003) and 4th at the European Championships (2007). For Russia, he is the 1998 World Junior silver medalist. Sergei Vladimirovich Dobrin (russian: Серге́й Владимирович Добрин, born 22 September 1986) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2005 World Junior bronze medalist and a two-time ISU Junior Grand Prix Final silver medalist. Jeremy Abbott (born June 5, 1985) is a former American figure skater. He is the 2008 Grand Prix Final champion, a two-time (2007, 2011) Four Continents bronze medalist, and a four-time (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014) U.S. national champion. Stephen Carriere (born June 15, 1989) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2007 World Junior champion, 2006 JGP Final champion, and 2008 U.S. national bronze medalist.
