2007 NAB Cup
The 2007 NAB Cup was the pre-season competition of the Australian Football League's 2007 season. It culminated in the Grand Final on 17 March, which was won by Carlton. Prize money * Winner: $220,000 * Runner-up: $110,000 * Round 3 losers: $55,000 * Round 2 losers: $27,000 * Round 1 losers: $16,500 $220,000 was awarded to the winning club (by comparison, the prize money for the winner of the 2005 AFL Grand Final was only slightly larger at $250,000). Smaller amounts were awarded to clubs based on participation and progression through the competition. It was announced that if a club could win both the pre-season and regular premierships in the same season, that the club would receive a bonus $1 million. Nick Stevens
Nick Stevens (born 3 January 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League and former coach of South Australian National Football League club Glenelg. He played in four pre-season premierships, with Port Adelaide in 2001 and 2002, and with Carlton in 2005 and 2007. He is the only man to have won more than one Michael Tuck Medal, winning the awards in 2002 for Port Adelaide and in 2007 for Carlton. Stevens played a total of 104 games for Carlton and 127 for Port Adelaide. Extra Time
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. Marc Murphy (footballer)
Marc Murphy (born 19 July 1987) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited with the first overall selection in the 2005 AFL draft and served as the captain of Carlton from the 2013 season to 2018. He is the son of John Murphy. Early life and junior career Murphy attended Whitefriars College in Donvale. Ben Fixter (born 23 June 1981) is an Australian rules football player who played with the Sydney and Brisbane Football Clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Ben played with the Charles Sturt University Football Club in the Farrer Football League, a semi-professional football league based in the Riverina region of New South Wales. Jed Adcock (born 15 November 1985) is a former professional Australian rules footballer and current coach who played for the and in the Australian Football League (AFL). Scott Harding (born 19 June 1986) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Simon Black
Simon Black (born 3 April 1979) is a former Australian rules football player and current assistant coach, who played his whole career with the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Black was a midfielder with a reputation for hard work and skill. He had the ability to get under the pack to retrieve the ball as well as deliver it with precision to teammates. Ashley Vernon McGrath (born 20 May 1983) is a retired indigenous Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League.
