2007 Murcian Regional Election
The 2007 Murcian regional election was held on Sunday, 27 May 2007, to elect the 7th Regional Assembly of Murcia, Regional Assembly of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of the Region of Murcia. All 45 seats in the Regional Assembly were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with 2007 Spanish regional elections, regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and 2007 Spanish local elections, local elections all throughout Spain. District One (Regional Assembly Of Murcia Constituency)
District One was one of the five constituencies ( es, circunscripciones) represented in the Regional Assembly of Murcia, the regional legislature of the Region of Murcia. The constituency elected seven deputies. It comprised the municipalities of Lorca, Aguilas, Puerto Lumbreras, Totana, Alhama de Murcia, Librilla, Aledo and Mazarrón. The electoral system used the D'Hondt method and a closed-list proportional representation, with a minimum threshold of five percent regionally. Closed list describes the variant of party-list systems where voters can effectively only vote for political parties as a whole; thus they have no influence on the party-supplied order in which party candidates are elected. The D'Hondt method, also called the Jefferson method or the greatest divisors method, is a method for allocating seats in parliaments among federal states, or in party-list proportional representation systems.
