The 25th Men's European Volleyball Championship was the first continental volleyball competition hosted by Russia. Championship took place from September 6 to September 16, 2007, and was won by Spain. Miguel Ángel Falasca
Miguel Ángel Falasca Fernández (29 April 1973 – 22 June 2019) was an Argentine-born Spanish professional volleyball player and coach. He was a member of the Spain national team from 1993 to 2009, a participant in the Olympic Games Sydney 2000, and the 2007 European Champion. Personal life Falasca was born in Mendoza, Argentina. His grandfather came from Italy. His father Juan Carlos was a retired volleyball player from Argentina, and his mother was a native Spaniard. At the age of 16, due to the unstable economic situation in Argentina, the Falasca family decided to move to Spain. Vadim Anatolyevich Khamuttskikh (russian: Вадим Анатольевич Хамутцких; 26 November 1969 – 31 December 2021) was a Russian volleyball player, who was a member of the men's national team that won the silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia and the 2007 European Championship in Moscow, Russia. There he was named ''Best Setter'' of the tournament. Aleksey Igorevich Verbov (russian: Алексей Игоревич Вербов, born 31 January 1982) is a retired Russian volleyball player, a former member of Russia men's national volleyball team and the Russian club Zenit Kazan. He is currently coaching the men's Zenit Kazan team. With the Russian men's national team, he won the gold medal at the 2013 Men's European Volleyball Championship played in Denmark and Poland. Yury Viktorovich Berezhko (russian: Юрий Викторович Бережко; born 27 January 1984) is a Russian volleyball player. He currently plays outside hitter for VC Zenit-Kazan. He is an Olympic gold medalist (2012), bronze medalist (2008), World Cup silver medalist and a silver medalist at the 2007 European Championship in Moscow, Russia, playing with the men's national team.
