2007 League Of Ireland First Division
The 2007 League of Ireland First Division season was the 23rd season of the League of Ireland First Division. The First Division was contested by 10 teams and Cobh Ramblers won the division. Finn Harps were also promoted to the Premier Division after a play-off and Wexford Youths made their League of Ireland debut. The League of Ireland First Division ( ga, Céad Roinn Sraith na hÉireann), also known as the SSE Airtricity League First Division, is the second level division in both the League of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland football league system. The division was formed in 1985. It replaced the League of Ireland B Division as the League of Ireland's second level division. Since 2003 the First Division has operated as a summer league. Stephen Henderson (born 2 January 1966) is an Irish football coach and former player who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently manager of League of Ireland First Division side Longford Town. Personal life Stephen comes from a goalkeeping family. His father, Paddy, was a League of Ireland goalkeeper, as was his brother Dave. His younger brother Wayne was a Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper and Stephen's son, Stephen, has made over 200 appearances at club level in England Career Following a long playing career that started at Shelbourne in 1984 and included Dundalk, Limerick, Lisburn Distillery, St James's Gate, Cobh Ramblers, Ards and Finn Harps, Henderson spent four years as the goalkeeping coach at Cork City. Station Road is a football ground and training complex located in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. It is home to Leinster Senior League outfit Newbridge Town F.C. It was also the home of now defunct Eircom League Division One side Kildare County F.C. The ground was bought in the early 1980s by Newbridge Town F.C. John Ryan (Irish Footballer)
John Ryan (born 27 February 1968 in Dublin) is an Irish football manager and former player. Playing career He made his League of Ireland debut for St Patrick's Athletic on 4 September 1988 but soon joined Bray Wanderers on loan. He played for Bray in two different spells 1988-1991 and 1998-2001 scoring 44 goals in 145 appearances. Ryan is probably best known for the hat-trick he scored while playing with Bray in the 1990 FAI Cup final. It was the first FAI Cup Final to be played at Lansdowne Road in 1990. That year a crowd of over 30,000 saw Bray Wanderers defeat non-league club, St Francis F.C., 3-0. Newbridge, officially known by its Irish name Droichead Nua (), is a town in County Kildare, Ireland. Finn Park ( ga, Páirc na Finne) is a football stadium in Ballybofey, Ireland. The home ground of League of Ireland team Finn Harps, it has a 'safe capacity' of 4,200 with 351 seats. Facilities The ground is in a relatively dilapidated condition, although upgraded to modern safety standards. Only three sides are officially open, the covered "Shed" with mixed seating/ terracing on the Navenny Road side with a capacity of 1,505, the large "Town End" terrace on the Chestnut Road side with capacity 1,748, and the "Gantry" viewing slope capacity 1,195, which is rarely used by home fans and houses the television/radio gantry. Paul Hegarty (born 30 May 1967 in Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland) is former Irish footballer and current assistant manager of League of Ireland Premier Division club Finn Harps. 'Heggsy' as he is commonly referred to has also previously managed nearby clubs Institute and Finn Harps as well as another brief period as assistant to Stephen Kenny at Derry from 2005 to 2006. Ballybofey ( , ; ) is a town located on the south bank of the River Finn, County Donegal, Ireland. Together with the smaller town of Stranorlar on the north side of the River Finn, the towns form the Twin Towns of Ballybofey-Stranorlar. Oriel Park is a UEFA Category 2 football stadium located on the Carrickmacross Road in Dundalk, Ireland. The stadium is the home ground of Dundalk Football Club and is owned and operated by the club on land that has been leased from the Casey Family Trust since 1936.
