2007 Indianapolis Tennis Championships
The 2007 Indianapolis Tennis Championships was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 20th edition of the Indianapolis Tennis Championships, and was part of the International Series of the 2007 ATP Tour. It took place at the Indianapolis Tennis Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, from July 23 through July 30, 2007. The singles draw featured ATP No. 5, Australian Open semifinalist, Wimbledon quarterfinalist, Queen's Club winner and two-time Indianapolis champion Andy Roddick, Sydney titlist and Los Angeles runner-up James Blake, and Queen's Club and Nottingham semifinalist Dmitry Tursunov. Also present were Australian Open quarterfinalist Mardy Fish, Houston and Nottingham champion Ivo Karlović, Hyung-taik Lee, Robby Ginepri and Benjamin Becker, and a young Kei Nishikori, appearing in his first-ever ATP quarterfinal. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. The 2007 Countrywide Classic was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts at the Los Angeles Tennis Center in Los Angeles, California in the United States and was part of the International Series of the 2007 ATP Tour and of the 2007 US Open Series. It was the 81st edition of the Los Angeles Open and the tournament ran from July 16, 2007 through July 23, 2007. Unseeded Radek Štěpánek won his first title of the year, and second career title. Frank Dancevic
Frank Russell Dancevic ( ; sr, Френк Расел Данчевић, Frenk Rasel Dančević, ; born September 26, 1984) is a retired Canadian professional tennis player. He first became the country's top singles tennis, singles player, according to ATP rankings, on February 10, 2003, as an 18-year-old, and remained so from January 30, 2006 until June 20, 2010. Dancevic has reached two ATP singles finals (Atlanta Open (tennis), Indianapolis and Eastbourne International, Eastbourne), the quarterfinals of the 2007 Rogers Masters – Singles, 2007 Montreal Masters and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 65 in September 2007. Kei Nishikori
is an inactive Japanese professional tennis player. He is the second male Japanese player to have been ranked in the top 5 in singles (after Jiro Sato), and the only one to do so in the Open Era. Nishikori first reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 4 in March 2015. Nishikori has won 12 singles titles and was runner-up at the 2014 US Open, making him the first male player representing an Asian country to reach a Grand Slam singles final. He also became the first man from Asia to qualify for the ATP Finals and reached the semifinals in 2014 and 2016. Benjamin Becker (born 16 June 1981) is a German retired professional tennis player who is known for defeating former world No. 1 Andre Agassi in the third round at the 2006 US Open in what was Agassi's last match as a professional player. He won three ATP singles titles in his career and achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 15 in December 2005. Lee Hyung-taik ( ko, 이형택, born 3 January 1976) is a former professional tennis player from South Korea. He won one singles title and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 36, in August 2007. Personal life Lee was born in a potato-farming village in Hoengseong County, South Korea. His height of 211 cm (6 ft 11 in) makes him the joint tallest ranked tennis player in history, along with Reilly Opelka. He has won eight ATP singles titles between 2007 and 2016.
