Television in Croatia was first Timeline of the introduction of television in countries, introduced in 1956. As of 2012, there are 10 nationwide and 21 regional DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial) television channels, and there are more than 30 other channels either produced in the Republic of Croatia or produced for the Croatian market and broadcast via IPTV (Internet Protocol television), cable television, cable, or satellite television. The electronic communications market in Croatia is regulated by the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), which issues broadcast licenses and monitors the market. The DVB-T and satellite transmission infrastructure is developed and maintained by the state-owned company Odašiljači i veze (OiV). Horseman (film)
''Konjanik'' ( en, Horseman) is a 2003 Croatian film directed by Branko Ivanda. It is based on Ivan Aralica's 1971 novel of the same name. The movie takes place in the early 18th century on the borders between the regions of Bosnia and Dalmatia, the crossroads of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Venice. It deals with issues relating to the region's native Croats as they struggle to live between two empires and two faiths: Catholicism and Islam. The film's main character Petar Revač, was played by Nikša Kušelj. Zrinka Cvitešić
Zrinka Cvitešić (born 18 July 1979) is a Croatian film, television and theatre actress. Biography The elder of two daughters, Zrinka Cvitešić was born in Karlovac, in the Karlovac County to Ivan and Višnja Cvitešić. Her mother played organ in a local Catholic parish near her hometown. Cvitešić started acting at elementary school and her first role was Cinderella. As a theatre actress, she has been a member of the Croatian National Theatre since 2005. In April 2013, Cvitešić made her West End debut at the Phoenix Theatre in London as "Girl" in the musical ''Once''. Her performance received rave reviews, and she won Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Big Brother 4 (Croatia)
''Big Brother 4'' is the fourth season of the Croatian reality television series Big Brother that began on 7 September 2007 and ended on 21 December 2007. The maximum prize was 1.5 million HRK (200 000 EUR). Every successful weekly task increased the final prize by the same amount. Producers introduced penalties as a response to criticism of the second season, when they were perceived to be too tolerant of contestants' misbehavior. At the end of the show the prize was 1,005,000 HRK. Vedran was the winner of the show. In the fourth season 14 housemates entered the house. Big Brother (Croatian TV Series)
''Big Brother'' is the Croatian version of the international reality television franchise ''Big Brother'' created by producer John de Mol in 1997. The show was aired on RTL Televizija. It followed a number of contestants who live in an isolated house trying to avoid being evicted by the public with the aim of winning a large cash prize at the end of the run. Throughout the season, housemates are completing tasks, every incomplete task reduces the prize. In the first four regular seasons and the celebrity season, the house was located in Jadran Film studios, in Dubrava, Zagreb. In the fifth season, the house used is the '' Big Brother Thailand'' house. There have been seven regular seasons and one celebrity season. Luka Nižetić
Luka Nižetić (born 12 August 1983) is a Croatian singer. His debut album '' Premijera'' was recorded in 2006. He is best known for his hits "Ponekad poželim" ("Sometimes I wish") and "Proljeće" ("Springtime"). Biography Luka Nižetić was born in Split, Croatia, as the second child of Tamara and Milo Nižetić. Together with his sister Petra, he grew up in Mertojak, part of Split. His parents noticed Luka's great interest in music at a young age. Consequently, they sent him to nuns for his early music education. A nun, called Cecilia, taught Luka to play the piano. When he was about 11 years old, music professor Mišo Linić started giving Luka lessons in singing and gave him basic knowledge in composing. The opera diva Sanja Erceg–Vrekalo taught him in singing technique. When Luka was about seventeen years old, he composed his first song "Ludi grad" (Oh Crazy Town). ''Zabranjena ljubav'' ( lit. "Forbidden Love", commonly abbreviated to ZLJ) is a Croatian daytime soap opera about the lives and loves of both young and older characters, focused on Zagreb, capital city of Croatia.
