The following article presents a summary of the 2007 football (soccer) season in Brazil, which was the 106th season of competitive football in the country. Campeonato Brasileiro Série A São Paulo declared as the Campeonato Brasileiro champions. Relegation The four worst placed teams, which are Corinthians, Paraná, Juventude and América-RN, were relegated to the following year's second level. Campeonato Brasileiro Série B Coritiba declared as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B champions. Promotion The four best placed teams, which are Coritiba, Ipatinga, Portuguesa and Vitória, were promoted to the following year's first level. Relegation The four worst placed teams, which are Paulista, Santa Cruz, Remo and Ituano, were relegated to the following year's third level. Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. Vila Nova Futebol Clube, commonly referred to as Vila Nova, is a Brazilian professional club based in Goiânia, Goiás founded on 29 July 1943. It competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, the second tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Goiano, the top flight of the Goiás state football league. History In 1943 the club was founded as Vila Nova Futebol Clube. Three years later, in 1946, the club changed its name to Operário. In 1949 the club changed its name to Araguaia, then in 1950 it was renamed to Fênix Futebol Clube and in 1955 the club changed its name to its current name, Vila Nova Futebol Clube. In 1961 Vila Nova won their first state championship. In 1977 the team debuted in Campeonato Brasileiro and finished in 55th place. Associação Atlética Coruripe
Associação Atlética Coruripe is a Brazilian professional football club based in Coruripe, Alagoas. It competes in the Campeonato Alagoano Segunda Divisão, the second division of the Alagoas state football league. The club competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C three times and won the state championship twice. History On 1 March 2003, Associação Atlética Coruripe was founded. In 2003, the club won its first title, the Campeonato Alagoano Second Division, after beating Sete de Setembro 3–1, at Gerson Amaral Stadium. Coruripe was also promoted to the following year's first division. In 2004, the club was Campeonato Alagoano's runner-up. In the final the club was defeated by Corinthians Alagoano. The Campeonato Alagoano is the football league of the state of Alagoas, Brazil. Format 2020 First Division The Campeonato Alagoano is divided into three stages. *First stage: simple round-robin, in which all eight teams play each other once. The four best-placed teams go to the Semifinals. *Semifinals: home-and-away playoff with the top 4 teams of the first stage (1st place x 4th place, 2nd place x 3rd place), with the two winners going to the Finals. *Finals: home-and-away playoff between the two qualified teams. Nacional Atlético Clube, usually known as Nacional de Patos or simply as Nacional is a Brazilian football club from Patos, Paraíba state. The club was founded in 1961, and in 1989 competed in the Brazilian Championship Second Level and in 2005 and in 2007 competed in the Brazilian Championship Third Level. Its home matches are played at José Cavalcanti Stadium. History On December 23, 1961, the club was founded by employees of federal institutions, such as the Correios, and other institutions. Rio Branco Football Club, commonly referred to as Rio Branco, is a Brazilian professional club based in Rio Branco, Acre founded on 8 June 1919. It competes in the Campeonato Acreano, the top flight of the Acre state football league. It is the most successful club in Acre, having won a record 47 state titles, 31 of those being won in the amateur era. Rio Branco also took part in the national league in 21 seasons, the most of any club from the state. It is also the first Northern Brazil and the only club from Acre to play in a continental cup, featuring in the 1997 Copa CONMEBOL after winning the Copa Norte in the same year. Estádio Orlando Scarpelli
The Estádio Orlando Scarpelli is a football stadium inaugurated on May 27, 1961 in Estreito neighborhood, Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, with a maximum capacity of 19,584 spectators. The stadium is owned by Figueirense. Its formal name honors Orlando Scarpelli, who was Figueirense's president, and donated the groundplot where the stadium was built.
