2007 FIA WTCC Race Of France
The 2007 FIA WTCC Race of France was the fourth round of the 2007 World Touring Car Championship season and the third running of the FIA WTCC Race of France. It was held on 3 June 2007 at the temporary Circuit de Pau street circuit in Pau, France. It was the headline event of the 2007 Pau Grand Prix. The first race was won by Alain Menu, whilst the second race was won by Augusto Farfus. Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques
Pau (, ) is a Communes of France, commune overlooking the Pyrenees, and prefecture of the Departments of France, department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, regions of France, region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The city is located in the heart of the former sovereign principality of Béarn, of which it was the capital from 1464. Pau lies on the Gave de Pau, and is located from the Atlantic Ocean and from Spain. Robert Huff
Robert Peter "Rob" Huff (born 25 December 1979) is a British professional racing driver. He currently competes in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) driving for Zengő Motorsport. He was the 2012 World Touring Car Championship champion and the 2020 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship champion. Racing career Early years A Christmas Day birth in 1979 in Cambridge, Huff had a long junior career in karting. He attended St Faith's School and The Leys School, Cambridge, from 1993 to 1996. Stefano D'Aste (born 26 February 1974 in Genoa) is an Italian auto racing driver. His early racing career included competing on motorcycles and the Monza International Rally. He has competed in the World Touring Car Championship between 2004 (when it was known as the European Touring Car Championship) and 2013. Exagon Engineering
Exagon Engineering is a French auto racing team which is based in Magny-Cours. The team was founded by director Luc Marchetti in 2004, and is managed by former racer Cathy Muller who is the older sister of successful touring car driver Yvan Muller. Exagon Engineering are best known for preparing cars to enter in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, although they also run cars in other events such as rallycross, sportscar racing and ice racing. They first entered the WTCC in 2007, running a SEAT León for Belgian driver Pierre-Yves Corthals in a full campaign, as well as Frenchman Anthony Beltoise in two rounds. Anthony Beltoise (born 21 July 1971, in Neuilly-sur-Seine) is a French auto racing driver. He is the son of former Grand Prix motorcycle racer and Formula One driver Jean-Pierre Beltoise and nephew of fellow Formula One driver François Cevert, as his mother is Cevert's sister. James Thompson (born 26 April 1974 in York, England) is a British auto racing driver. He has twice been champion of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), and was third in the 2007 World Touring Car Championship. GR Asia
GR Asia is an auto racing team based in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. They have raced in the World Touring Car Championship, the European Touring Car Championship and the British Touring Car Championship. In 2006 they won the Independents championship in the WTCC with Tom Coronel. Initially entering the BTCC in 2000, GR ran in the class B category, running Ford Focus chassis, and again in 2001. Tom Coronel
Tom Romeo Coronel (born 5 April 1972) is a Dutch professional racing driver. Tom's twin brother Tim is also a racer, just like their father Tom Coronel Sr. His most important results are winning the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 race in 1997, the Formula Nippon championship in 1999, and the 2006 and 2009 World Touring Car Championship Independents' Trophy. As of September 2016, Tom Coronel has driven over 1,000 races. He is currently still racing in the WTCC, where he won his first WTCC race in Okayama, Japan in 2008. After competing as an independent driver in a SEAT for many years Tom switched to BMW in 2011. The Alfa Romeo 156 (Type 932) is a compact executive car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo. It was introduced at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show as the replacement for the Alfa Romeo 155. The 156 received a positive reception and in the following year went on to win the 1998 European Car of the Year award. The 156 saloon was discontinued in Europe late in 2005, while the Q4 Crosswagon continued in production until the end of 2007. Olivier Tielemans (born June 1, 1984 in Weert) is a Dutch race car driver. His career started back in 1991 when he came 4th in the Dutch Kart Championship. Between 1995 and 1997 he raced in the Belgian Kart Championship and became Rookie of The Year. He didn't race again until 2002 when he raced in the Italian and European Formula Renault Championships. In 2003 he finished 4th in the Benelux Formula Renault Championship. In 2004 he competed in the last six races of the FIA Formula 3000 Championship.
