The 2007 FAW Premier Cup Final was the final of the 10th season of the FAW Premier Cup. The final was played at Newport Stadium in Newport on 21 March 2007 and marked the first time the final has been staged at the stadium. The match was contested by Newport County and The New Saints. 2006–07 FAW Premier Cup
The 2006–07 FAW Premier Cup was the tenth season of the tournament since its founding in 1997. The New Saints F.C., The New Saints were the eventual winners, beating Newport County A.F.C., Newport County 1–0 in the final to win the competition for the first time in the club's history. Damon Searle
Damon Peter Searle (born 26 October 1971) is a Welsh professional footballer. He is a left-sided defender, midfielder and coach, currently at Barry Town United. Career Searle began his career as a trainee at his home town club Cardiff City. It was here that he spent the major part of his career before leaving on a free transfer to sign for Stockport County. In the following years he left Stockport and played for Carlisle United, during which time he had a short loan spell at Rochdale, before moving to Southend United as a replacement for, the previous seasons player of the year, Nathan Jones. John Leah
John David Leah (born 3 August 1978) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a midfielder. He briefly played in the Football League for Darlington. Career Leah began his career as a youth team player with Llansantffraid, making his first team debut in August 1996. After a short spell with Newtown, Leah joined Football League Third Division side Darlington where he made 10 appearances in all competitions before returning to Newtown in 2000. In 2001, Leah rejoined Total Network Solutions and remained with the side following their renaming as The New Saints in 2006, being named Welsh Premier League Player of the Year for the 2006–07 season. Duane Jerome Courtney (born 7 January 1985) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a right-back for club Highgate United. He has played in the Football League for Burnley. Courtney started his career in the youth system of Derby County as a schoolboy and later played for Birmingham City as a trainee. Gerard Doherty (born 24 August 1981) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, Doherty began his career with his hometown club, Derry City, making his debut as a 16-year-old in a league cup win against Irish side Sligo Rovers. Peter Beadle
Peter Clifford William James Beadle (born 13 May 1972) is an English football manager and former player who was recently manager of club Yate Town. A former player, Beadle played as a forward and he scored some 83 goals in 355 league games, mostly for the two Bristol clubs. He started his career at Gillingham in 1989 and won a £300,000 move to Tottenham Hotspur two years later. Charles John Griffin (born 25 June 1979) is an English former professional footballer. Griffin started his career with Bristol Rovers, spending two years at the club and progressing through the club's youth system. He was released at the age of 18 and played part-time football with Chippenham Town for a season. Richard Evans (born 19 June 1983) is a Welsh professional footballer. He has been capped by Wales U21s and is who plays for Chippenham Town. Career Evans began his career as a trainee with Birmingham City, but left having never made the first team.
