2007 Deutschland Tour
The 31st edition of the Deutschland Tour cycle race took place in Germany from August 10 to August 18, 2007. It did not start with the traditional prologue but with a normal stage. The race included a team time trial, an individual time trial and seven stages, covering a total of . The race began in Saarbrücken and finished in Hanover. For the second year in a row Jens Voigt held off Levi Leipheimer to take the victory. Final General Classification Teams 23 teams took part. Of the 20 ProTour teams, only did not take part (the team was in crisis from doping results at the 2007 Tour de France). Four non-ProTour teams were given a wildcard invitation: Skil–Shimano, Team Volksbank, Team Wiesenhof–Felt and Elk Haus-Simplon. Deutschland Tour
The Deutschland Tour (English: ''Tour of Germany'' and sometimes ''Deutschland-Rundfahrt'' in German) is the most important multi-stage road bicycle race in Germany. Initially the race was held in May/June, but from 2005 until 2008 it was moved to August as part of the UCI ProTour. On October 16, 2008 the organizers announced that the 2009 edition would be cancelled, following the doping cases that were revealed in the sport of cycling. Marketing chiefs said they were unable to finance the nine-day race due to a lack of interested sponsors after the latest revelations of cyclists testing positive for the blood-booster CERA. A revival for 2017 was announced on 8 March 2016. In 2018, the A.S.O. revived the Deutschland Tour and included a 4-stage-race into a cycling festival. Gustav Larsson
Gustav Erik Larsson (born 20 September 1980) is a Swedish former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2001 and 2016 for nine different teams. Larsson specialised as a time trialist, winning the Swedish National Time Trial Championships seven times between 2006 and 2015, and won silver medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the 2009 World Championships in Mendrisio. Professional career On the international scene he represented Team Saxo Bank, and in Sweden he represented Skoghalls CK-Hammarö. Gemla-born Larsson began cycling when he was 14 years and, having shown great talent and dedication, turned pro just 7 years later. Bretten (; South Franconian German, South Franconian: ''Bredde'') is a town in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located on Bertha Benz Memorial Route. Erik Zabel (; born 7 July 1970) is a German former professional road bicycle racer who raced most of his career with Telekom. Danilo Napolitano (born 31 January 1981) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2017, and was chiefly known for his sprinting abilities. Born in Vittoria, Sicily, Napolitano turned professional in 2004 and for the 2004 and 2005 seasons he rode for the professional continental team . Team Volksbank
Team Vorarlberg () is a cycling team based in Austria. The team was founded in 1999 by the twin brothers Thomas Kofler and Johannes Kofler and previously known as Team Volksbank. In 2009, the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg replaced Volksbank as title sponsor. In 2006 it became the first ever Austrian professional cycling team and was registered as a UCI Professional Continental team until June 2010, when their UCI license was suspended due to financial insecurity. The team was later re-registered as a UCI Continental team, and retained that status in 2011. In 2007, the team received international attention when former German Tour de France-winner Jan Ullrich announced to join the team in an official function after having been suspended by his T-Mobile Team due to his involvement in the Operación Puerto doping case.
