2007 Churchill Cup
The 2007 Churchill Cup was held from May 18 to June 2, 2007. It was the fifth year of the Churchill Cup. Six rugby union teams took part: Canada, England Saxons, Ireland A, New Zealand Māori, Scotland A, and the USA. Format The teams were split into two pools of three teams each. The winners of the two pools moved on to compete in the overall final, while the two runners-up competed for the Plate, and the two bottom-placed teams contested the Bowl. All of the finals were played on 2 June 2007 at Twickenham. 2007 was the first occasion where the competition was played outside of North America. This was because many players were to be in Europe ahead of the Rugby World Cup. Lee Dickson
Lee Dickson (born 29 March 1985 in Verden, Germany) is an English professional rugby union player who plays at scrum-half for Bedford Blues in the RFU Championship. Dickson played 49 times for Newcastle Falcons between 2004–2008 and 256 games for Northampton Saints between 2008–17. He played for the national side 18 times between 2012–14. Calum MacRae
Calum MacRae (born 26 January 1980 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is the defence coach for Benetton. He was head coach of the Scotland rugby 7s team 2014–2017. Playing career MacRae played rugby union as a centre and had also operated at fullback and fly-half. After age grade rugby he played for a four-year period on the IRB Sevens World Series along with playing in the Celtic league for the Borders. He played his final tournament for Scotland at the 2005 RWC Sevens in Hong Kong. Following this he was in Frank Hadden's Scotland Training Squad for a 4-year period, however, MacRae never gained full honours. His international 15's career mainly consisted of three consecutive Churchill Cup Tournaments. Nils Mordt
Nils Mordt (born 5 December 1983 in Harare, Zimbabwe) is a retired rugby union footballer who played at centre for Saracens and England Sevens. Mordt is the nephew of South African legend, Ray Mordt. He played junior rugby at Maidenhead Rugby Football Club, and was part of the U17 National Cup winning Colts side. On 25 January 2008, Northampton Saints announced that he had signed for the club for the 2008/2009 season from London Irish. Mordt joined Harlequins in 2009. Oliver John Barkley (born 28 November 1981) is a former English people, English rugby union player who played for Bath Rugby, Bath, Gloucester Rugby, Gloucester, Racing Metro 92, Racing Metro, FC Grenoble, Grenoble, Scarlets and London Welsh at fly-half between 2001 and 2016. Nick Abendanon
Nick Abendanon (born 27 August 1986 in Bryanston, South Africa) is a former England international rugby union player. His preferred position was full-back. He has Dutch nationality through his parents. Abendanon burst onto the scene during the 2006–07 season, scoring 10 tries in 24 first-team appearances for Bath. A strong tackler, balanced runner and dangerous counter-attacker, he firmly established himself as Bath's first-choice full-back in the post- Matt Perry era. David Paice (born 24 November 1983) is an English qualified rugby union footballer who plays at hooker for London Irish and has International honours for England. Paice participated in the 2007 Churchill Cup. He was later called into the England Saxons side that defeated Ireland A on 1 February 2008. Henley Hawks is a rugby union club based in Henley-on-Thames and is one of the leading rugby clubs in the Thames Valley. Gordon Ross (rugby Union)
Gordon Ross (born 8 March 1978) is a Scottish rugby union footballer who played fly-half for Scotland. Ross represented Edinburgh and Scottish Schools at U16 and U18 level before going on to represent Scotland at U19 and at U21 levels. He attended George Heriot's School and started his senior career with Heriots before joining Edinburgh when Scotland opted for regional rugby in 2000. The highlight of his early career was kicking the winning goal for Edinburgh Rugby against Biarritz Olympique in 1997 and beating England as part of the Scotland U19 squad in the same season. Rory Lamont (born 10 October 1982 in Perth) is a former rugby union player who played fullback and on the wing for Glasgow Warriors and Scotland. He prides himself on his versatility. George Clancy (rugby Union)
George Clancy is an Irish rugby union referee. Clancy refereed at the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups. He has also refereed in the Pro14, the European Rugby Champions Cup, the Six Nations Championship and the Rugby Championship. Clancy refereed the 2007 Churchill Cup final and the 2009 and 2011 European Challenge Cup finals. Stockport
Stockport is a town and borough in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield.
