Canada National Rugby Union Team
The Canada national rugby union team (french: Équipe du Canada de rugby à XV) represents Canada in men's international rugby union competitions and is governed by Rugby Canada. Canada is classified by World Rugby as a tier two rugby nation and has competed in competitions such as the Americas Rugby Championship and the Rugby World Cup. Canada traditionally plays in red and white. Canada has been playing international rugby since their 1932 debut against Japan. Canada competed at every World Cup from the inagurual tournament in 1987 until its elimination at the hands of Chile during the 2023 qualifying process, breaking the 3 decades long record of uninterrupted attendance. Byron Kelleher
Byron Terence Kelleher (born 3 December 1976 in Dunedin, New Zealand) is a former rugby union scrum-half who played for Stade Toulouse in the French Top 14 and has played 57 tests for the All Blacks. He was a very aggressive player, who specialized in pick-and-go techniques. Rugby career He was educated at Otago Boys' High School, and originally played for Otago in the NPC and the Highlanders in the Super 14. He moved north in 2004 to play for Waikato and the Chiefs. Scott Franklin (born 23 August 1980 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada), is a Canadian Professional rugby union player who plays rugby for the Prairie Wolf Pack in Canada, and for the Canadian national team. Franklin is a prop/Flanker/#8. Career Before going into professional rugby, Franklin went to the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan where he played football, hockey and rugby. Neemia Tialata
Neemia Stanley Tialata (born 15 July 1982 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby union footballer. He currently plays for Stade Toulousain in the Top 14. As well as representing New Zealand from 2005 - 2010, he also played for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby and for Wellington in the ITM/Air New Zealand Cup when available. Early life Tialata was born in Lower Hutt but moved, when he was one, to American Samoa with his parents who were undergoing religious training in Kanana Fou Theological Seminary. Troy Vandem Flavell (born 4 November 1976 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. Flavell won 22 caps for New Zealand, and mainly played lock. He is known for his power in the scrum. He attended Massey High School alongside Ron Cribb and both played for Massey Rugby Club. Career In October 2005, Flavell returned to New Zealand after a season with Japanese club Toyota Verblitz. Michael Burak (born October 9, 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian former international rugby union footballer. He won 29 caps for Canada between 2004 and 2009. Early career Originally a standout basketball player at Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver, Burak played for two seasons at the University of British Columbia. After being cut from the men's varsity basketball squad in the 2000-2001 preseason, Burak switched to the UBC men's varsity rugby program, under head coach Spence McTavish. Reuben David Thorne (born 2 January 1975) is a New Zealand rugby union player, and former captain of the national team, the All Blacks. Professional Career and the All Blacks Super 12 Playing as a flanker, Thorne first appeared in the Super 12 with the Canterbury Crusaders in 1998. Stan McKeen (born April 9, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian rugby union player. Rugby career McKeen began his rugby career at St. George's School in Vancouver and eventually found himself playing for the UBC Old Boys rugby club.
