2007 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2007 Calgary Stampeders season was the 50th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 69th overall. After promising second place finishes in the West Division in 2005 (11–7) and 2006 (10–8) they finished third in the West Division in 2007, with a disappointing 7–10–1 record, their first losing record in three seasons. They were defeated in the Western Semi-Final 26–24 by the eventual Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders. The season was the last in which the team recorded more than two consecutive losses in the regular season in 10 years, recording three consecutive losses to close out the 2017 Calgary Stampeders season. Tom Higgins (Canadian Football)
Thomas Joseph John Higgins Jr. (born July 13, 1954) is the defensive coordinator for the Alberta Golden Bears football team in U Sports. He has previously served as the Director of Officiating for the Canadian Football League and is a former Canadian and American football player, head coach, and general manager. Early years Higgins, the son of a former Philadelphia Eagles tackle, Tom Higgins Sr., was a high school football standout at Colonia High School in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. He played nose guard at North Carolina State University. He was an All-American and was a starter in four consecutive bowl games. He was also an All-American wrestler at NC State. Pat MacDonald (gridiron Football)
Patrick MacDonald (born February 20, 1982) is a former NFL and CFL professional football player. He was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and was the second player in the school's history to go to the NFL. He was drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the third round of the 2007 CFL Draft. He played college football at University of Alberta. The 2007 BC Lions season was the 50th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 54th season overall. They finished first in the West Division for the fourth consecutive season with a 14–3–1 record, establishing new franchise records for wins and points in a season and most consecutive first-place finishes. The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. McGill Redmen Football
The McGill Redbirds football team represents McGill University in Canadian football in U Sports and is based in Montreal, Quebec. The program is one of the oldest in all of Canada, having begun organized competition in 1874.
