The 2007 Assen Superbike World Championship round was the fifth round of the 2007 Superbike World Championship. It took place on the weekend of April 27–29, 2007, at the 4.555 km TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. TT Circuit Assen
The TT Circuit Assen is a motorsport race track built in 1955 and located in Assen, Netherlands. Host of the Dutch TT, it is popularly referred to as "The Cathedral" of motorcycling by the fans of the sport. The venue has the distinction of holding the most Grand Prix motorcycle races every year (except ) since the series was created in . It has a capacity of 110,000 spectators, including 60,000 seats. Since 1992, the circuit has also been part of the World SBK calendar except the 2020 season. Fonsi Nieto
Alfonso González Nieto (born 2 December 1978 in Madrid, Spain), better known as Fonsi Nieto, is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and the nephew of successful Grand Prix motorcycle road racer Ángel Nieto. After success in the 250cc class he moved to World Superbikes and made one MotoGP start. For 2010 he returned to the Grand Prix scene in the newly formed Moto2 category. Nieto announced his retirement from competition in early 2011 after failing to recover from injuries suffered when racing at Indianapolis in 2010. Karl Muggeridge born 20 April 1974 in Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia is a former professional motorcycle racer. He is married to Isobel, and has one son, Ryan Luca. Régis Laconi (born 8 July 1975 in Saint-Dizier, Haute-Marne) is a French former professional motorcycle racer. In he competed in the Superbike World Championship for DFX on a Ducati. Dean Bruce Ellison (born 14 November 1977 in Lancaster, Lancashire) is a former motorcycle racer from Britain. Ellison is the older brother of former Moto GP and current British Superbike rider James Ellison. Early career Ellison started racing in 1996.
