2006–07 Sunshine Tour
The 2006–07 Sunshine Tour was the seventh season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was rebranded in 2000. It marked the last year of a seasonal calendar. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. In 2005–06 there had been 21 tournaments. Of those, two tournaments were last held in 2005, but there were eight tournaments added for the 2006–07 schedule bringing the total up to 27. The tour was based predominantly in South Africa, with 24 of the 27 tournaments being held in the country. One event each was held in Swaziland, Zambia and Namibia. The new tournaments were the Stanbic Zambia Open, which returned after a hiatus in 2005, two South African Airways Pro-Am Invitational tournaments, the Sun Coast Classic, the Eskom Power Cup, the Coca-Cola Charity Championship, the first sanctioned year of the Nedbank Golf Challenge, and the Joburg Open which was co-sanctioned ... Jean Hugo (golfer)
Victor Jean Hugo (born 3 December 1975) is a South African professional golfer. Golf career Hugo matriculated at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1994. Three years later he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from University of Stellenbosch. He is the youngest son of organic chemist Professor Victor Hugo and Esme Hugo who were both active in sport and sport administration. He also excelled in rugby and cricket before choosing golf as a career. Hugo played on the European Tour and had his best season in 2001 when he finished 34th on the Order of Merit. Asian Tour
The Asian Tour is the principal men's professional golf tour in Asia except for Japan, which has its own Japan Golf Tour, which is also a full member of the International Federation of PGA Tours. Official money events on the tour count for World Golf Ranking points. The Asian Tour is administered from Singapore. It is controlled by a board with a majority of professional golfers, and a Tournament Players Committee of its player members, supported by an executive team. Doug McGuigan
Douglas Gordon McGuigan (born 7 August 1970) is a Scottish-South African professional golfer. He has won eight times on the Sunshine Tour between 2003 and 2017. McGuigan was born in Durban, and currently resides in Johannesburg. After winning three West Coast Tour events as an amateur, he turned professional in 1989. Tongoona "TC" Charamba (born 2 February 1982) is a professional golfer from Zimbabwe. Charamba was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He won 12 amateur tournaments, including the Zimbabwe Amateur Matchplay and Stokeplay Championships in 2002, and led the Zimbabwe Order of Merit from 2000 to 2002, before turning professional in 2003. Charamba became just the third black golfer to win on the Sunshine Tour when he claimed the SAA Pro-Am Invitational in 2006. Thomas Edward Aiken (born 16 July 1983) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. Career Following a successful amateur career, which included being named the South African Amateur of the Year in 2001, Aiken turned professional at the start of 2002.
