2006–07 Moldovan Cup
The 2006–07 Moldovan Cup was the 16th season of the Moldovan annual football cup competition. The competition started on 27 August 2006 with the preliminary round and ended with the final held on 9 May 2007. Preliminary round 20 teams entered this round. The games were played on 27 August 2006. First round The ten winners from the previous round entered this round, in addition to 12 new teams. The games were played on 5 September 2006. Intermediate round The games were played on 19 September 2006. Round of 16 The games were played on 27 and 28 September 2006. Quarter-finals The first legs were played on 18 and 19 October 2006. The second legs were played on 1 November 2006. Semi-finals The first legs were played on 7 April 2007. The second legs were played on 22 and 23 April 2007. FC Rapid Ghidighici was a Moldova Republic football club based in Ghidighici. They played in the Divizia Naţională, the top division in Moldova Republic football. Fotbal Club Municipal Ungheni, commonly known as FCM Ungheni, is a Moldovan football club based in Ungheni, Moldova. They were founded in 2000 and they play in the Moldovan Liga 1, the second division in Moldovan football. History The club was found in 2000 by the local authorities as FCM Ungheni and took part in Moldovan "B" Division. In season 2003–04 club was overtaken by local businessman Ghenadie Mitriuc and renamed to FC Spartac. The authorities did not accept this and took the club back and renamed it again, this time to FC Moldova-03. In season 2005–06 team had a debut in Moldovan "A" Division. In 2007 club suffers from financial problems. Local authorities doesn't support it anymore. Thus Ghenadie Mitriuc (at that time vice mayor) again takes club under his control. FC Iskra-Stal Rîbnița is a Moldovan football club based in Rîbnița, Moldova (Transnistria). History FC Iskra-Stal (Rybnitsa) was founded in 2005 by merging an amateur team ''Stal'' that was owned by the metallurgical plant in Rîbnița, with the local team "Iskra", that was competing in the Moldovan "A" Division. FC Cahul-2005 is a Moldovan football club based in Cahul, Moldova. The club was founded in 1980 as FC Cahul and after they changed their name and reformed in 2005, they now play in the Moldovan "A" Division, the second division in Moldovan football. History The club was founded in 1980 as FC Cahul and played in the Moldovan regional championships until independence from the Soviet Union.
