2006–07 ABA NLB League
The 6th season of Liga ABA saw them change their name to the ABA NLB League as their general sponsor changed. Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company ceded their sponsorship rights to the NLB group. In other changes, after Montenegro declared independence in 2006, Budućnost returned to the regional league with a wild-card given by the NLB League board. And the Final Four tournament was replaced with a playoff. 14 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia participated in the NLB League in its sixth season: Union Olimpija, Helios, Geoplin Slovan, Cibona, Zadar, Zagreb, Split, Široki ERONET, Bosna ASA BH TELECOM, Crvena zvezda, Partizan, Hemofarm, FMP Železnik, Budućnost. Liga ABA
The ABA League, renamed to the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the 1st-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as the Goodyear League from 2001 to 2006, the NLB League from 2006 to 2011, and as the AdmiralBet ABA League from 2021. The league coexists alongside scaled-down national leagues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. All but one of Adriatic League clubs join their country's own competitions in late spring after the Adriatic League regular season and post-season have been completed. KK Union Olimpija
Košarkarski klub Olimpija ( en, Olimpija Basketball Club) was a men's professional basketball club based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Olimpija has won 23 National League championships, including eight consecutive titles between 1992 and 1999. They have played in two different National Leagues since 1946, the Yugoslav Federal League (1946–1991) and the Slovenian League (1991–2019). Mirza Begić (born 9 July 1985) is a retired Bosnian-born Slovenian professional basketball player. The Center (basketball), center, he represented the Slovenia national basketball team, Slovenian national team in the international competitions. Milenko Topić
Milenko Topić (; born 6 March 1969) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career A power forward, Topić spent most of his professional career playing in the YUBA League, representing Profikolor, BFC Beočin, Crvena zvezda, Budućnost, and Hemofarm. In the later career, he also played in Italy for Montepaschi Siena and Olimpia Milano, as well as in Greece for Rethymno, until his retirement in 2008. Stanko Barać
Stanko Barać (born August 13, 1986) is a retired Croatian professional basketball player. Professional career Early years Barać was born in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina and he started his basketball career with the team HKK Široki, Široki Prima pivo, from Široki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Teemu Rannikko (born September 9, 1980) is a Finnish professional basketball player. He is 1.89 m (6' 2 ") tall, and he weighs 88 kg (195 lbs.). He mainly plays at the point guard position. Dwayne Broyles (born July 10, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player who has played in the Euroleague, was an All-Star in four different European leagues and won three consecutive Belgium Championships. Carl Jerome English (born February 2, 1981) is a Canadian former professional basketball player and general manager for the St. John's Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada. A shooting guard, he has also played for the Canadian national team. Košarkarsko društvo Slovan, commonly referred to as KD Slovan or simply Slovan, is a basketball team from Ljubljana, Slovenia. History The origins of the club are dating back to 1951, when Stane Urek suggested a formation of a basketball club in Poljane (KK Poljane), at one of Ljubljana's high schools. The club got its official permission to play on 13 April in the same year. After just two days, they organised their first tournament, at which they invited Rudar Trbovlje and Krka, both playing in the first national league.
