Renault Sport () or Renaultsport, was the motorsport, performance and special vehicles division for Renault-badged cars. Renault Sport was officially established in 1976 as a merger between the Alpine and Gordini competition departments. It was reorganised in 2002 and 2016. In December 2021, all Renault Sport operations were merged into an Alpine-led business unit. History Renault Sport was created at the end of 1976, when Renault closed down the Alpine competition department (at that time, its main motorsport division), located at Dieppe, and moved all the racing activities to the Gordini factory at Viry-Châtillon, just outside Paris. The Dieppe-based Alpine department specialised in the construction of race car chassis while the Viry-Châtillon-based Gordini focussed on engines. However, several conflicts emerged between them, and Renault took the decision to unify both departments into a single location in order to achieve a greater integration and harmony. Chris Van Der Drift
Christopher Jason van der Drift (born 8 March 1986) is a New Zealand racing driver of Dutch descent. Career Van der Drift started karting at the age of 7 and in 1994 he raced his first year in cadets. From there he went on to win 6 New Zealand Championships and 6 North Island Championships until 2002. After ten years of kart racing in New Zealand and also competing in Australia for two years in 2001 JICA and 2002 Ford Kart Stars (finishing both championships in 6th), he had to take the step into racing cars. At the time he had no sponsors so it was difficult just to step into a car as his parents didn't have enough to fund that as well. Azerti Motorsport (also known as Racing for Belgium) is a Belgian motorsport team founded by former racer Wim Coekelbergs. History Racing for Belgium started racing in Belgian Clio Cup in 2003, but graduated to the Eurocup Mégane Trophy in 2005, taking the driver and teams titles with Jan Heylen. They also won the 2005 and 2006 SEAT Leon Supercopa in Spain with Oscar Nogues. In 2007, the team entered an Alfa Romeo 156 in the World Touring Car Championship for Miguel Freitas and an Aston Martin DBRS9 in the Belcar series for Wim Coekelbergs and Ron Marchal. For 2008, the team regrouped their activities and planned to move to the SEAT Eurocup, but retreated back to the Belgian Clio Cup. Tech 1 Racing is a racing team based in Toulouse, France. They currently compete in the World Series by Renault and Eurocup Mégane Trophy. Tech 1 also operate the Panis Racing LMP2 entry to the European Le Mans Series and the Ultimate LMP2 Pro-Am entry to the FIA World Endurance Championship. Matthieu Lahaye
Matthieu Lahaye (born 23 November 1984, in Rennes) is a French racing driver, competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for OAK Racing. Career Lahaye's career began in karting, in which he competed between 1995 and 2001. He then took part in Formula France and French Formula Renault. In 2004 he contested World Series Lights, finishing fifth in the standings with a win at Valenca. He moved on to the Eurocup Mégane Trophy in 2005 for Tech 1 Racing, finishing his first season ninth overall. The following year he won three times on his way to the runner-up spot. 2007 saw him slip to fifth place with just one win. 2008 saw him switch to sportscars, driving in the Le Mans Series for Saulnier Racing. Racing a Pescarolo- Judd with Pierre Ragues, he finished fifth in the LMP2 standings. Jaap van Lagen (born 22 December 1976 in Ede) is a Dutch racing driver, who is a former competitor in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series and a former Eurocup Megane Trophy champion. Epsilon Euskadi
EPIC Racing (Euskadi Phil Imanol Claudio Racing) was a racing team from Spain. The team's headquarters were located in Vitoria ( Alava). It was the second major motorsport team from the Basque Country, (Euskadi). Epsilon Euskadi was the biggest one and ran their own team in World Series by Renault and Formula Renault before selling the racing division to EPIC Racing in March 2011 in a bid to run the World Series by Renault with both FR3.5 and FR2.0 when Epsilon Euskadi ran into financial trouble and allowed all personnel involved to maintain their jobs. Epic Racing was born from a sell out of Epsilon Euskadi and not a name change as it mistakenly written in several places. Bertrand Baguette (born 23 February 1986) is a Belgian professional racing driver. In 2013, he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class and the FIA WEC LMP2 class title. In 2017, he won the final running of the Suzuka 1000km in Super GT. Bertrand is the 2022 Super GT 500 Champion with Nissan. SG Formula is a French auto racing team which participated in the junior categories of open wheel racing: Formula Renault and Formula Three. The team was founded in 2004 by Frenchman Stephane Guerin. JD Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Vespolate, Italy that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. History The team was formed in the 1995 by Roberto Cavallari and Alfredo Cappelletti.
