2006 Vrienden Van Het Platteland Season
The 2006 women's road cycling season was the seventh season for the Vrienden van het Platteland (UCI code: VVP) cycling team, which began as ''Ondernemers van Nature'' in 2000. One of the main new recruits for the team was former junior rider Ellen van Dijk. In March Ellen van Dijk became University World Champion at the 2006 World University Cycling Championship in the women's road race. and finished second in the women's time trial. The other main victories for the team were Flèche Hesbignonne by Chantal Beltman and stage 2 of the Tour Féminin en Limousin by Ellen van Dijk. At the national championships Sharon van Essen finished second in the road race and Iris Slappendel won the bronze medal in the women's time trial. At the end of the year the team ended 12th in the UCI Team's Ranking with Chantal Beltman as the best individual at the 30th place in the UCI Individual Women's Road Ranking. The women's individual pursuit at the 2006 Dutch National Track Championships in Alkmaar took place at Sportpaleis Alkmaar from December 29 to December 30, 2006. Vera Koedooder won the gold medal, Marlijn Binnendijk took silver and Ellen van Dijk won the bronze. Competition format The tournament started with a qualifying round on December 29. Auke, pron. ˆaukÉ™ is a quite common West Frisian masculine given name. It seems to have been a diminutive form originally (''-ke'' is one of the most common diminutive suffices in West Frisian), which developed from the historic form Auwe or Auwen. According to onomatologist Rienk de Haan, Auwe was a very reduced form of certain Germanic names, possibly starting with '' Alf-'' (meaning "elf", "supernatural" or "nature spirit"). Loes Gunnewijk
Loes Gunnewijk (born 27 November 1980 in Groenlo) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2015. Gunnewijk was a member of the Dutch national team together with Ellen van Dijk, Marianne Vos and Annemiek van Vleuten in the road race at the 2012 Summer Olympics where Vos won the gold medal. Gunnewijk announced her retirement from the sport in May 2015, subsequently completing the Union Cycliste Internationale's Sports Directors Diploma course in November 2015. Between May and the end of 2016, Gunnewijk joined her old cycling team as a trainee directeur sportif. Since 2017, Gunnewijk has been the head junior women's coach and assistant para-cycling coach for the Dutch cycling national federation KNWU. The minke whale (), or lesser rorqual, is a species complex of baleen whale. The two species of minke whale are the common (or northern) minke whale and the Antarctic (or southern) minke whale.
