The European Cyclo-cross Championships are the European championships in cyclo-cross. They have been held since 2003 in November, towards the start of the cyclo-cross season. Hanka Kupfernagel (born 19 March 1974 in Gera, Bezirk Gera) is a retired Germany, German professional cycle racer. During most of her career her primary focus was cyclo-cross racing, however, she has also won major road, track and mountain bike races. She has won seven consecutive medals at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, Women, UCI Women's Cyclo-cross World Championships, including three gold medals for 2000, 2001 and 2005; two silver medals in 2002 and 2003; and the bronze medal in 2004. Her major career victories also include a gold medal in the individual time trial competition at the 2007 UCI Road World Championships in Stuttgart and a silver medal in the road race at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Daphny van den Brand, (born 6 April 1978 in Zeeland, North Brabant) is a Dutch cyclo-cross, road bicycle and mountain bike racer. Daphny van den Brand started her cycling at eight. She won races thanks to her sprint. Van den Brand joined the Dutch junior team. She won her first medal as a junior in 1993 during the cyclo-cross race in Sint-Michielsgestel, where she finished third . Dutch mountain bike manager Leo van Zeeland asked her in 1994 to race on a mountain bike. Van den Brand took part in a race in Bergschenhoek and finished in fifth position. Ramon Sinkeldam (born 9 February 1989) is a Dutch cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Amateur career Born in Wormer, Sinkeldam rode for the for his entire amateur career, between 2007 and 2011. During this time, he won the Paris–Roubaix Espoirs race in 2011, as well as winning the 2011 Ronde van Limburg and the national under-23 road race championships in 2011, having finished second in the two previous years. Huijbergen
Huijbergen is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Woensdrecht, about southeast of Bergen op Zoom, close to the Belgian border. History The village was first mentioned in 1264 as in Huybergen. The etymology is unclear. In 1264, , Lord of Breda, sold the moorland around Huijbergen for cultivation. The village developed in 1278 around the monastery of the Hermits of Saint William. Only the gate wing of the monastery from the early-17th century remains. In 1847, an orphanage by the Brothers of Our Lady was established at the site. The building were severely damaged in 1944, and rebuilt in the 1950s in traditional style. The grist mill Johanna was built in 1862. In 1918, the miller was struck by lightning and died several month later. It was already a ruin in the 1940s.
