The 2006 PGA EuroPro Tour was the fifth season of the PGA EuroPro Tour, a third-tier tour recognised by the European Tour. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2006 season. Order of Merit The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in Pound sterling. The top five players on the Order of Merit (not otherwise exempt) earned status to play on the 2007 Challenge Tour. Paul Curry (golfer)
Paul Andrew Curry (born 5 May 1961) is an English golfer. Curry was born in Colchester. He turned professional in 1979 and played on the European Tour through most of the 1980s and 1990s. He finished in the top one hundred of the Order of Merit ten times, with a best of 33rd place in 1994, the year he won his only European Tour title, the Jersey European Airways Open. Having lost his place on the European Tour, Curry moved to the United States and won a PGA Tour card at the 1999 qualifying school. During his rookie season in 2000, he made only seven cuts in twenty five outings to lose his playing status on the tour. He made several return trips to the qualifying tournament without success. Curry played several events on the second tier Nationwide Tour in 2001, and latterly has competed on the third tier NGA Hooters Tour. 2007 Challenge Tour
The 2007 Challenge Tour was the 19th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. The Challenge Tour Rankings were won by France's Mike Lorenzo-Vera. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2007 season. Stuart Cage
Stuart Cage (born 16 July 1973) is an English professional golfer. Cage won the English Amateur in 1992 and played for Great Britain & Ireland in the 1993 Walker Cup. He turned professional in 1993 and having finished 8th on the second tier Challenge Tour Rankings the following year, was a rookie on the European Tour in 1995. He nearly won the Irish Open during that first season, losing out to the experienced Sam Torrance to a playoff. Two years later he won his only European Tour title, at the Europe 1 Cannes Open. Russell Claydon
Russell Claydon (born 19 November 1965) is an English professional golfer. Claydon was born in Cambridge, England. He won the English Amateur in 1988 and turned professional in 1989. He played on the European Tour from 1989 to 2004. He was in the top one hundred on the Order of Merit every year from 1990 to 1999, with a best placing of twentieth in 1997. He had six second place tournament finishes on the tour before picking up his first and only win at the 1998 BMW International Open. Claydon struggled for form in the new Millennium and by 2005 he was playing few tournaments. However, he remained involved with the European Tour as a member of its board of directors. He was also a member of England's three man team in the 1997 Alfred Dunhill Cup. Matthew Richardson (golfer)
Matthew Richardson (born 5 December 1984) is an English professional golfer played in both Europe and North America. Richardson was a successful amateur golfer, with the pinnacle of his amateur career being an appearance in the 2005 Walker Cup. He turned professional later that year, and qualified for the European Tour at the end of 2006 via qualifying school. However, after a tough debut season, where he made only four cuts, Richardson moved to North America and began playing on the Canadian Tour. Daniel Stephen Gaunt (born 14 November 1978) is an Australian professional golfer. Gaunt was born in Lancefield, Victoria near Melbourne. His brother Chris is also a professional golfer. He lives in New Malden, England, with his wife, Caroline, and four children. He tied with Terry Pilkadaris for the Australian Medal in 1997 and turned professional in 1999. His nickname "Peter Pan" comes from the fact he’s always fighting a hook. Gaunt qualified for the European Tour via qualifying school at the end of 2003.
