The Oakland Raiders season was the franchise's 37th season in the National Football League, the 47th overall, and the 12th back in Oakland. The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. Jackie Slater
Jackie Ray Slater (born May 27, 1954), nicknamed "Big Bad Jackie", is an American former professional football player who was an offensive tackle for 20 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played his entire career with the Rams franchise: 19 seasons in Los Angeles, from 1976–1994, and one in St. Louis in 1995. Slater holds the record amongst all offensive linemen who have played the most seasons with one franchise. A graduate of Jackson State University, he was a teammate of Walter Payton. Tom Walsh (coach)
Tom Walsh (born April 16, 1949) is a former American football coach. Walsh is best known for his two stints as offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles and Oakland Raiders. Early career Walsh entered coaching in 1978 as the coach of Rubidoux High School in Jurupa Valley, California. In 1979 he moved up to the college ranks as the head coach of United States International before becoming the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of Murray State in 1980. In 1981 he was brought on as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of Cincinnati. 2002 Kansas City Chiefs Season
The 2002 season was the Kansas City Chiefs' 33rd in the National Football League (NFL), their 43rd overall and the franchise's 40th in Kansas City, Missouri. Football Outsiders (FO) is a website started in July 2003 which focuses on advanced statistical analysis of the NFL. The site is run by a staff of regular writers, who produce a series of weekly columns using both the site's in-house statistics and their personal analyses of NFL games.
