2006 NACAC Cross Country Championships
The 2006 NACAC Cross Country Championships took place on March 11, 2006. The races were held at the United States Triathlon National Training Center in Clermont, Florida, United States. North American, Central American And Caribbean Athletic Association
The North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) is the continental confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. NACAC is one of six area associations of World Athletics (WA), previously named the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). NACAC was founded on December 10, 1988, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Presidents Amadeo Francis of Puerto Rico was elected as the first president of the association. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2003. In 2007 Neville "Teddy" McCook (Jamaica) was elected as new president and was re-elected in 2011. Sheila Reid (athlete)
Sheila Reid (born August 2, 1989) is a Canadian track and field athlete who competes in cross country, middle and long-distance running events. She competed collegiately at Villanova University. Reid won the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Women's Cross Country Championship, and in June 2011 became the first woman to win the 5000 m and the 1500 m at the NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. She won the Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female cross country runner in 2011, repeated as the best female cross country runner in 2012, and also won the Honda Sports Award for Track and field in 2012. She competed in the 5000 m in Athletics at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and in the 1500 m at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. Kate Van Buskirk (born June 9, 1987 in Brampton, Ontario) is a Canadian cross-country and track runner, with 18 years National Team experience. She won bronze for Canada at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the 1500 m. She began hosting and producing ''The Shakeout Podcast'' in 2018, for ''Canadian Running'', and was named as an Athlete Director of Athletics Canada, in August 2019. She continues in this role as of August 2020. After setting the Canadian record time for the indoor mile, in 2018, she was invited to Team Canada at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships. She ran in the 5000 metre at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo.
