Dallas () is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, the most populous metropolitan area in Texas and the 4th most populous metropolitan area in the United States at 7.5 million people. Downtown Dallas is the central business district (CBD) of Dallas, Dallas, Texas, United States, located in the geographic center of the city. It is the second-largest business district in the state of Texas. The area termed "Downtown" has traditionally been defined as bounded by the downtown freeway loop, bounded on the east by Interstate 345, I-345 (although known and signed as the northern terminus of Interstate 45 (Texas), I-45 and the southern terminus of U.S. Highway 75 (Texas), US 75 (Central Expressway (Dallas), Central Expressway), on the west by Interstate 35E (Texas), I-35E, on the south by Interstate 30 (Texas), I-30, and on the north by Woodall Rodgers Freeway.
