The 2006 Paris Masters (also known as the ''BNP Paribas Masters'' for sponsorship reasons) was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts. It was the 34th edition of the Paris Masters, and was part of the ATP Masters Series of the 2006 ATP Tour. It took place at the Palais omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France, from 30 October through 6 November 2006. David Pablo Nalbandian (; born 1 January 1982) is an Argentine retired professional tennis player who played on the ATP Tour from 2000 until his retirement in 2013. He reached the highest ranking in singles of world No. 3 in March 2006. Nalbandian was runner-up in the singles event at the 2002 Wimbledon Championships. During his career, he won 11 singles titles, including the Tennis Masters Cup in 2005 and two Masters 1000 tournaments.
