During the 2005–06 English football season, Queens Park Rangers F.C. competed in the Football League Championship. Season summary In the 2005–06 season, QPR struggled to build on the previous years' successes and on 6 February 2006, Holloway was suspended amidst rumours of his departure for Leicester City. He was replaced by a former player; the popular Gary Waddock. The 2005–06 season overall was difficult for QPR both on and off the pitch as financial troubles and boardroom issues combined with a series of poor performances and defeats. However, until the sacking of Ian Holloway, they had been secure in mid-table, it was only a winless run from the end of February to the end of the season, saw QPR drop to 21st. Kiyan Prince
Kiyan Josiah Prince (25 November 1990 – 18 May 2006) was a 15-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed outside the London Academy in Edgware, London on 18 May 2006. Prince, who played football for the youth team of professional club Queens Park Rangers, was described as "a prodigious footballing talent" and "an outstanding and upstanding boy". He was killed while trying to stop the bullying of another boy. Murder On 18 May 2006, Prince was involved in an altercation with 16-year-old fellow London Academy pupil Hannad Hasan outside the school gates. Hasan managed to get Prince in a headlock before stabbing him once in the heart with a penknife. A Metropolitan Police Sergeant from the local Edgware Safer Neighbourhood team found Prince; he was transferred by air to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where he was pronounced dead two hours later. Stefan Leroy Moore (born 28 September 1983) is an English former footballer who played as a striker. He is a product of the Aston Villa Academy where he came through the ranks with his younger brother, Luke Moore, who went on to play for Aston Villa and other teams in the Premier League. Dropping into non-league football in his mid-twenties Moore became a prolific goalscorer at that level. Marc Stephen John Bircham (born 11 May 1978 in Wembley) is a former football player. Born in England, he represented Canada at international level. Club career London-born Bircham started his professional career at Millwall and after 6 seasons joined Queens Park Rangers where he became a crowd favorite. Bircham used to be known for his unusual hairstyle – a dyed blue and white streak down the centre of his hair from when he played for QPR and a red and white streak while playing for Canada. Martin Charles Rowlands (born 8 February 1979) is an English-born Irish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career After starring for Heston Gaels GAA club at underage level, Rowlands started his football career at Wycombe Wanderers, but did not earn a professional contract and joined Farnborough Town in 1997 before moving to Brentford in August 1998 for a transfer fee of £45,000. Kevin Andrew Gallen (born 21 September 1975) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. He notably played in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers over several seasons, and would have two spells with the Loftus Road club.
