2005–06 Lebanese Premier League
The 2005–06 season of the Lebanese Premier League was the 45th season of Top-Flight League association football in Lebanon. This season featured ten clubs once more from across the nation. Three of these teams were eligible for competing in international competitions(AFC Cup for first Position and FA Cup Winners while second and third enter the Arab Champions League with a fourth spot reserved for the winner of the 2005–06 Lebanese Cup) while the bottom team at the end of the season would be relegated to make way for third teams from the 2005–06 Second Division for the expanded 12-team Football League in the 2006–07 Season. Lebanese Premier League
The Lebanese First Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الأولى), commonly known as the Lebanese Premier League (), is the top division of the Lebanese football league system. There are 12 teams competing in the league, which operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Lebanese Second Division. The league's first season began in May 1934, with Nahda winning the first title. The most successful club in the league is Ansar, with 14 league titles; they set a Guinness World Record by winning 11 consecutive league titles between 1988 and 1999. Seasons run from September to June with each team playing 21 games per season. Most games are played on weekend afternoons. Salam Zgharta Football Club ( ar, نادي السلام الرياضي زغرتا, lit=Zgharta Peace Sporting Club), known as Salam Zgharta or simply Salam, is a football club based in Zgharta, Lebanon, that competes in the . Mohammed Ghaddar
Mohamad Mahmoud Ghaddar ( ar, محمد محمود غدار; born 1 January 1984) is a Lebanese former professional footballer who played as a forward. Coming through the youth system, Ghaddar began his senior career at Nejmeh in 2000. He stayed nine years at the club, winning multiple domestic and individual titles. In 2009, Ghaddar moved abroad, joining Al-Shabab in Bahrain, then Egyptian side Al Ahly in 2010, helping them win the league title. Following stints in Syria at Tishreen in 2010 and Al-Jaish in 2011, Ghaddar moved to Malaysia at Kelantan and FELDA United. He then returned to the Middle East, where he played for Al-Faisaly and Naft Al-Wasat between 2014 and 2017. Abbas Ahmad Atwi ( ar, عباس أحمد عطوي; born 12 September 1979) is a Lebanese former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Making his debut for Lebanon in 2002, Atwi was the all-time most capped player for his country with over 80 international caps, before being surpassed by Hassan Maatouk in 2020; he played for the national team for over 13 years, until his final match in 2016. Club career Atwi grew up in the Zuqaq al-Blat quarter of Beirut; he began playing football in the streets aged six. The 2006–07 Lebanese Second Division was the 73rd season of the Second Division league which featured 14 clubs. Two of these teams were eligible for promotion to the top league of Lebanese football, the Lebanese Premier League while two of the fourteen teams had to face relegation to the Lebanese Third Division for the 2006–07 Season.
