The 2005–06 season was Football Club Internazionale Milano's 97th in existence and 90th consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. Season overview The 2005–06 Serie A season opened with success in the Supercoppa Italiana, beating Juventus 1–0 in extra time with a goal scored by Verón. During the Champions League group stage, the side managed to have a line-up of 11 foreign players on the pitch: the only European was Luís Figo, playing the second time. Despite a good first half (also including a 3–2 win in derby, that lacked since 2002) Inter did not have a great second half, and knocked out in the Champions League by Villarreal. 2004–05 Inter Milan Season
The 2004–05 season was Football Club Internazionale Milano's 96th in existence and 89th consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. Season overview The summer of 2004 saw Inter choose a new coach, Roberto Mancini coming from Lazio. Inter started the season qualifying for the Champions League group phase, but also collected many draws in the league. Inter, achieved better results in cups, made a known comeback (3–2) in a match against Sampdoria, scoring all goals in the last six minutes. The derby with Milan was lost 1–0 which broke a positive streak, in May 2004. the rivals also knocked Inter out of the Champions League, tournament in which – during the previous two-legs – Mancini's squad had been beaten by reigning champions Porto. Paolo Orlandoni
Paolo Orlandoni (born 12 August 1972) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the current goalkeeper coach for Inter ''Primavera''. Club career He started his career at Internazionale, then playing on loan for a number of Serie B and Serie C1 teams (A.C. Mantova, AlbinoLeffe, Casarano, A.C. Pro Sesto, A.C. Ancona, U.S. Foggia, A.S. Acireale) until 1998. In July 1998 he was acquired by Reggina, where he was featured as a regular and became instrumental in the club's first promotion ever to the Serie A league in 1999. Júlio César Soares de Espíndola (born 3 September 1979), known as Júlio César (), is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. 2006 FIFA World Cup
The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which had won the right to host the event in July 2000.
