2005–06 Crystal Palace F.C. Season
During the 2005–06 English football season, Crystal Palace F.C. competed in the Football League Championship, following relegation from the FA Premier League the previous season. Season summary Crystal Palace had been boosted by the decision by the Premiership's top English goalscorer of the previous season, Andrew Johnson, to remain with the Londoners to fire their bid for a return to the top flight. Although Johnson was less prolific this season, scoring only 15 goals, Palace reached the play-offs in sixth place – the position they had finished in the promotion season of 2004. Palace faced third-placed Watford in the semi-finals – they were comprehensively beaten 3–0 in the first leg, and were only able to draw the second leg 0–0, consigning Palace to another season in the Championship. Mark Hudson (footballer Born 1982)
Mark Alexander Hudson (born 30 March 1982) is an English former professional footballer and currently manager at Cardiff City. A centre-back, he began his professional career with Fulham after progressing through the club's youth academy. He made his senior debut in a League Cup match in 2000 but made just two further first team appearances for Fulham. He spent two spells on loan with Oldham Athletic in 2003 before joining Crystal Palace on loan after Oldham manager Iain Dowie moved between the two clubs. Darren Philip Ward (born 13 September 1978) is an English footballer who last played for Hemel Hempstead Town. Daniel Patrick Granville (born 19 January 1975) is an English football coach and former footballer, who is an academy coach for Premier League side Arsenal. As a player he was a left back who played in the Premier League for Chelsea, Leeds United, Manchester City and Crystal Palace. Gábor Ferenc Király (; born 1 April 1976) is a Hungarian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In his 25-year-long playing career, Király spent most of his career in Germany and England.
