Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria)
The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League ( bg, Втора професионална футболна лига, Vtora Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as Second League ( bg, Втора Лига) or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First League and above the Third League. Sixteen teams take part in the league, each playing twice against all the other, once home and once away. Most matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays. The league is administered by the Bulgarian Professional Football League. In 2016, the B Group's name was rebranded to Second Professional Football League. FC Dunav ( bg, Дунав, officially named ''"Дунав от Русе"'') is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Ruse, which currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. Part of a larger sports branch, Dunav were established on February 16, 1949, as a merger of two local football clubs in the city, Dinamo and Rusenets. Nicknamed ''The Dragons'' ( bg, Драконите), Dunav's home colours are sky blue and white. Named after the Danube River, on the banks of which the city of Ruse is situated, the club plays its home matches at the local Gradski stadion, which has a seating capacity of 13,000 spectators. Belite Orli Pleven ( bg, ПФК Белите орли Плевен) is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Pleven, currently playing in the A RFG Pleven, the fourth division of Bulgarian football. The team was dissolved in 2010, but was restored in 2014. History Foundation On 19 August 1931 in Pleven is founded the football club ''Belite Orleta''. The team name is changed to ''Belite Orli'' in 1932. In 1942 they are allowed to build own stadium called Spartak, but later the name is changed to Belite Orli Stadium. In 1947 team is merged with the other Pleven football clubs to found one united team called PFC Spartak Pleven. 1991–2010 On 20 January 1991 the team is refounded by Viktor Haidukov, son of one of the original founders and others. PFC Vidima-Rakovski Sevlievo ( bg, ПФК Видима-Раковски Севлиево) was a Bulgarian football club based in Sevlievo- Balabanica, which competed in various Bulgarian football leagues (ultimately the North-West V AFG, the third level of Bulgarian football) before dissolving in 2015. The club was established on September 2, 1997 as Vidima-Rakovski. It was the successor to SC Rakovski, which was founded on December 19, 1922. Vidima-Rakovski played in the lower divisions of the Bulgarian football league system until 2003, when the club was promoted to the top division. The club's home ground was the Rakovski Stadium in Sevlievo, which has a capacity of 8,816 people. The club folded in 2015 after financial problems and was succeeded by Sevlievo. OFC Spartak Pleven
OFK Spartak ( bg, ОФК Спартак) is a Bulgarian municipal association football club from the city of Pleven founded on 10 September 1919. It currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. The team's greatest achievements are the Bulgarian Cup final in 1957 and the third place in the Bulgarian Championship during the following season. Spartak was once among the most prominent and consistent teams in the Bulgarian A Group. Between 1952 and 1988, Spartak only missed 5 seasons of top flight football. The Bulgarian Third Amateur Football League ( bg, Трета аматьорска футболна лига, Treta Amat'orska Futbolna Liga), commonly referred to as Third League ( bg, Трета лига) or Treta liga, is the third level of the Bulgarian football league system. Third League operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the second and the fourth tier of the Bulgarian football league pyramid – respectively being Second League and the A Oblast Groups. Currently Third League consists of four divisions that are formed by separating the country into four regions: ''North-West'', ''South-West'', ''North-East'' and ''South-East''. The divisions run in parallel during the season, but since the number of teams in each division may vary, the number of rounds in each of them may vary. 2006–07 A Group
The 2006–07 A Group was the 59th season of the Bulgarian A Football Group since its establishment in 1948 and the 83rd of a Bulgarian national top football division. The league was contested by 16 teams, thirteen returning from the 2005–06 season and three promoted from the B Group. Levski Sofia won the championship scoring a record 96 goals. Changes from last season Three teams were relegated at the end of the 2005–06 season: Pirin 1922 Blagoevgrad, Naftex Burgas, and FC Pirin Blagoevgrad. The latter was disqualified for financial reasons after the first two rounds. The relegated teams were replaced by Spartak Varna and Rilski Sportist, the two regional winners of B PFG. Spartak Varna make an immediate return to the top tier, while Rilski Sportist return after a three-year absence. OFC Sliven 2000
FC Sliven (ФК Сливен) is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Sliven, currently playing in the Third League, the third level of Bulgarian football. The club's home ground is the Hadzhi Dimitar Stadium in Sliven with a capacity of 15,000. Club colors are orange and blue. FC Sliven was founded in 1914. The team made several appearances in the Bulgarian top tier, starting from 1963, establishing itself as one of the strongest teams from Southeast Bulgaria. Sliven reached its peak in 1990, when the team managed to win the Bulgarian Cup, its only major trophy to date. This achievement qualified the team for the European Cup Winners' Cup for that season, where Sliven faced Italian team Juventus. FC Kaliakra Kavarna ( bg, ФК Калиакра Каварна) is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Kavarna, which currently competes in the A RFG Dobrich, the fourth tier of Bulgarian football. Founded in 1922 as Kaliakra Sport Club, the club spent most of its history in amateur football before making a rapid ascent to the second-flight of Bulgarian football in 1980. In 2010, the team managed to promote to the A Group for the first time. Their spell in the top flight lasted two seasons, ending in relegation in 2012.
