2005–06 AFC Ajax Season
During the 2005–06 Dutch football season AFC Ajax participated in the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup and the UEFA Champions League. The first training took place on 3 July 2005. The traditional AFC Ajax Open Day was on 3 August 2005. Pre-season The first training for the 2005–06 season was held on 3 July 2005. In preparation for the new season, Ajax organized a training camp in De Lutte, Netherlands, at the De Thij Sportpark. During the pre-season, the squad from manager Danny Blind played friendly matches against DWV, WHC, Quick '20, HHC Hardenberg, Rijnsburgse Boys, Fortuna Sittard, Arminia Bielefeld and FC Omniworld. They then returned to Amsterdam to play Arsenal and Boca Juniors in the annual Amsterdam Tournament. HHC Hardenberg
HHC Hardenberg is a football club from Hardenberg, Netherlands. The club is currently playing in the Tweede Divisie. History HHC Hardenberg was founded in 1954, as the result of a merger between ''Hardenberg Voetbal Club'' of Hardenberg en ''SV Heemse'' of neighbouring Heemse. The letters HHC stand for ''Hardenberg Heemse Combinatie'' (Hardenberg Heemse Combination). The club won its first title, in the ''Vierde Klasse'' (Fourth Class), in the 1964–65 season, securing promotion to the ''Derde Klasse'' (Third Class). Tomáš Galásek
Tomáš Galásek (; born 15 January 1973) is a Czech former football player and current manager. He was a holding midfielder who was also strong as a centre-back. Club career Galásek started his career with Banik Ostrava in 1991, before moving to Willem II Tilburg in 1997. With Willem II, he reached an historic fifth place in Eredivisie, which meant UEFA Cup qualification for the first time in 30 years. Since then, he played four UEFA Cup matches. In 1998–99, Willem II exceeded the previous year's performance, finishing second in the league. For the first time in history, Willem II qualified for the UEFA Champions League. John Heitinga
John Gijsbert Alan "Johnny" Heitinga (born 15 November 1983) is a Dutch football coach and a former player who played as a centre back. He manages Jong Ajax, the reserves team of AFC Ajax. Hatem Trabelsi ( ar, حاتم الطرابلسي, Ḥātem Ṭrabelsī; born 25 January 1977) is a Tunisian former professional footballer who played as a right-back for CS Sfaxien, Ajax, Manchester City and Al-Hilal Riyadh. Maarten Stekelenburg (; born 22 September 1982) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eredivisie club Ajax. The Amsterdam Tournament ( nl, Amsterdam Toernooi) was a pre-season association football competition, held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The competition was hosted by Eredivisie club Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena. It was inaugurated in 1975 as the Amsterdam 700 Tournament to celebrate 700 years of history in the city. It was held annually each summer until 1992, when the last edition of the original tournament was played. It returned in 1999 with the backing of the International Event Partnership (IEP). Four teams participate in the competition, played in a league format since 1986. Since its return, the tournament has used an unusual point scoring system.
