2005 In South Korean Football
This article shows the summary of 2005 football season in South Korea. Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors became champions of 2005 K League and 2005 Korean FA Cup respectively, and Busan IPark reached the semi-finals of the 2005 AFC Champions League. 2005 K League
The 2005 K League was the 23rd season of the K League. It kicked off on May 15, and was finished on 4 December. The format of the regular season and championship playoffs was the same as the one used in the 2004 season. Busan IPark won the first stage, and the second stage was won by Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma. Two winners were guaranteed their slot in the end-of-season playoffs. Incheon United and Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i also joined the playoffs according to the overall table after two stages. In the semi-finals Ulsan defeated Seongnam 2–1, and Incheon defeated Busan 2–0. The two victorious teams faced each other in the two-legged championship final. Ulsan won the first leg 5–1 at the Incheon stadium, and though Incheon won the second leg 2–1, Ulsan lifted their second league title 6–3 on aggregate. Kuwait City
Kuwait City ( ar, مدينة الكويت) is the capital and largest city of Kuwait. Located at the heart of the country on the south shore of Kuwait Bay on the Persian Gulf, it is the political, cultural and economical centre of the emirate, containing Kuwait's Seif Palace, government offices, and the headquarters of most Kuwaiti corporations and banks. Park Ji-sung
Park Ji-sung (; ; born 30 March 1981) is a South Korean former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in the South Korean capital Seoul, Park is the most successful Asian player in football history, having won 19 trophies in his career. He is the first Asian footballer to have won the UEFA Champions League, to play in a UEFA Champions League final, as well as the first Asian to have won the FIFA Club World Cup. Chung Kyung-ho (born 22 May 1980) is a former South Korean footballer. He was part of South Korean national team in the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2004 AFC Asian Cup. Tashkent (, uz, Toshkent, Тошкент/, ) (from russian: Ташкент), or Toshkent (; ), also historically known as Chach is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. Park Chu-young (; ; also romanised as Park Ju-young; born 10 July 1985) is a South Korean footballer who plays for Ulsan Hyundai as a forward. Club career FC Seoul In February 2005, Park joined a K League club FC Seoul with the highest salary among rookie players. In his first season, he scored 18 goals and provided 4 assists in 30 appearances (including the Korean League Cup), receiving the K League Young Player of the Year award by common consent for the first time in K League history. Maksim Shatskikh
Maksim Aleksandrovich Shatskikh (russian: Максим Александрович Шацких; born 30 August 1978) is an Uzbek professional football coach of Pakhtakor Tashkent and a former player. He is widely regarded as one of the best Uzbek player of all time and is currently the top goalscorer of the national team with 34 goals in 61 games. Shatskikh is the joint all-time top scorer of the Ukrainian Premier League with 123 goals in 341 games together with Serhii Rebrov. He spent a decade playing for Dynamo Kyiv from 1999 to 2009. Alexander Rudolfovich Geynrikh (russian: Александр Рудольфович Гейнрих, , german: Alexander Heinrich; born 6 October 1984) is a Uzbek former footballer who played as a forward for the Uzbekistan national team. Career After spending the first six-months of the 2005 season on loan at Pakhtakor Tashkent, Geynrikh joined Torpedo Moscow in August 2005. On 26 February 2011, Pakhtakor Tashkent announced that Geynrikh had moved to South Korean K-League club Suwon Bluewings on a one-year loan deal.
