The 2005 Super League (''Liga Super 2005'') also known as the TM Liga Super for sponsorship reasons is the second season of the Liga Super, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia.http://www.rsssf.com/tablesm/malay05.html 2005 Liga Super Summary The season was held from 29 January and concluded in 9 July 2005. The Liga Super champions for 2005 was Perlis. Perlis won the title after leaving the defending champions a huge 10 points behind. Penang escaped relegation on goal difference, having let in 4 goals less than Public Bank. The top goalscorer award was jointly won by Zacharia Simukonda from Perlis and Júlio César Rodrigues from Sabah. Both players scored 18 goals each. The highest number of goals featured in a match throughout the season was six. Four matches ended with six goals. Malaysia Super League
The Malaysia Super League ( ms, Liga Super Malaysia) is the men's top professional football division of the Malaysian football league system. Administered by the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP), now known as the Malaysian Football League (MFL), the Malaysia Super League is contested by twelve teams that operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Malaysia Premier League, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated and replaced by the promoted top two teams in that division. The league replaced the former top-tier league, Liga Perdana 1 in the Malaysian football league system, which ran from 1998 to 2003. 33 clubs have competed in the division since the inception of the Malaysia Super League in 2004, with eight teams winning the title (Selangor, Kedah Darul Aman, Kelantan, Sri Pahang, Perlis, Negeri Sembilan, LionsXII and Johor Darul Ta'zim).
