2005 Nordic Figure Skating Championships
The 2005 Nordic Figure Skating Championships were held from February 11th through 13th, 2005 at the Askerhallen in Asker, Norway. The competition was open to elite figure skaters from Nordic countries. Skaters competed in four disciplines, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating a ..., and ice dancing, across two levels: senior (Olympic-level) and junior. Pairs and ice dancing competitions were held only at the junior level. The junior compulsory dance was the Argentine Tango. Asker ( no, Asker), properly called Askerbygda in Norwegian, is a district and former Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Akershus, Norway. From 2020 it is part of the larger administrative municipality Asker, Viken (also known as Greater Asker) in Viken (county), Viken county, together with the traditional Buskerud districts Røyken and Hurum; Asker proper constitutes the northern fourth and is part of the Greater Oslo Region. The administrative centre was the town of Asker, which remains so for the new larger municipality.
