2005 Nationwide Tour
The 2005 Nationwide Tour season ran from January 27 to October 30. The season consisted of 31 official money golf tournaments, five of which were played outside the United States. The top 21 players on the year-end money list earned their PGA Tour card for 2006. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2005 season. Jason Gore
Jason William Gore (born May 17, 1974) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Gore was born in Van Nuys, California. He grew up playing junior golf with Tiger Woods. Gore attended the University of Arizona, then transferred to Pepperdine University. At Pepperdine, he was part of their NCAA Division I Championship team in 1997. He also played on the victorious Walker Cup team that year. Professional career Gore turned professional in 1997. In 2005, he played on the PGA Tour after moving from the Nationwide Tour mid-season, after receiving a battlefield promotion, which is given when a player wins three Nationwide Tour events in one season. The New Zealand PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It is currently known for sponsorship reasons as the SEC NZ PGA Championship. The Children's Hospital Classic was a golf tournament on the Nationwide Tour. It was played annually at the Black Creek Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee and produced by Friends of the Festival Event Management from 2007 to 2011. Chad Collins
Chad Steven Collins (born September 20, 1978) is an American professional golfer. Collins was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Methodist College in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration. While at Methodist, he won the NCAA Division III Championship as an individual three times (1998, 1999, and 2001) and as part of the team twice (1998 and 1999). He was a four-time first-team All-American (Div III) and four-time first-team All-USA South Athletic Conference. He won the USA South Athletic Conference championship in 1999 and was the co-champion in 2001. Collins turned professional after graduation. Christian Stratton Couch (born May 1, 1973) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Couch was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Fort Smith Classic was a golf tournament on the Nationwide Tour. It is held each year at Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Eric Allen Axley (born April 22, 1974) is an American professional golfer. Career Axley was born in Athens, Tennessee. He turned professional in 1997. He is one of the few natural left-handers to win on the Web.com Tour and PGA Tour. In 2006, Axley won the Valero Texas Open, claiming his first PGA Tour win. Shane Bertsch
Shane Thomas Bertsch (born March 30, 1970) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour. Bertsch was born in Denver, Colorado. He turned professional in 1994. Bertsch has won twice on the Nationwide Tour, once in 2000 and once in 2005. His best PGA Tour finish was a tie for fifth at the 1996 Greater Vancouver Open. Bertsch was once a top-tier tennis player, but gave up the game for good after losing to future world number-one Andre Agassi in 1994. The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour. It is currently played at Thornblade Club (host course) in Greer, South Carolina and The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
