The 2005 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship was the 34th annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. Early in the second half of the championship final Franklin Pierce striker, Chris Joyce, netted the ninth goal of his postseason career, which set a new Div. II tournament record for a single player. In the match's final 10 minutes, a pair of Fort Lewis goals broke a one-one tie, and the undefeated Skyhawks (22-0-1) vanquished the Franklin Pierce Ravens, 3–1. It marked the tenth time a team finished a Div. II season without a loss. NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship
The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship is the annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. It has been played annually since 1972; prior to then, all teams competed in a single class. The most successful program has been Southern Connecticut State, with six national titles. The current champion are Franklin Pierce, who won their first national title in 2022, defeating CSU Pueblo, 2–0, in the final. Format The Division II tournament is structured around four unbalanced Super Regionals from the eight NCAA regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West). At least two and as many as six teams from each region are selected with no automatic qualifiers given. The New York Tech Bears refer to the mascot and sports teams of the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), located in Old Westbury, New York, United States. All of New York Tech's teams compete in NCAA Division II. The Bears are part of the East Coast Conference (ECC). Rockhurst University is a private Jesuit university in Kansas City, Missouri. Founded in 1910 as Rockhurst College, Rockhurst University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The Incarnate Word Cardinals, also known as UIW Cardinals, are composed of 23 teams representing the University of the Incarnate Word in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, and track and field.
