Alpine Skiing
Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, is the pastime of sliding down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed-heel bindings, unlike other types of skiing ( cross-country, Telemark, or ski jumping), which use skis with free-heel bindings. Whether for recreation or for sport, it is typically practiced at ski resorts, which provide such services as ski lifts, artificial snow making, snow grooming, restaurants, and ski patrol. "Off-piste" skiers—those skiing outside ski area boundaries—may employ snowmobiles, helicopters or snowcats to deliver them to the top of a slope. Back-country skiers may use specialized equipment with a free-heel mode, including 'sticky' skins on the bottoms of the skis to stop them sliding backwards during an ascent, then locking the heel and removing the skins for their descent. Once Caldas S.A., simply known as Once Caldas, is a professional Colombian football team based in Manizales, that currently plays in the Categoría Primera A. They play their home games at the Palogrande stadium. They were the surprise winners of the Copa Libertadores in 2004. The club was founded in 1961 after the merger of Deportes Caldas and Deportivo Manizales (also known as Once Deportivo). 2005 Recopa Sudamericana
The 2005 Recopa Sudamericana (officially the 2005 Recopa Fox Sports Sudamericana for sponsorship reasons) was the 13th Recopa Sudamericana, an annual football match between the winners of the previous season's Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana competitions. From this edition forward, the Recopa Sudamericana will be contested over two legs. The match was contested by Once Caldas, winners of the 2004 Copa Libertadores, and Boca Juniors, winners of the 2004 Copa Sudamericana and appearing in a second, consecutive final. In a rematch of the Copa Libertadores final in 2004, Boca Juniors managed to avenge that defeat and win their second Recopa Sudamericana after beating Once Caldas 4-3 on goal aggregate. Estádio José Alvalade is a football stadium in Lisbon, Portugal, home of Sporting Clube de Portugal. It was built adjacent to the site of the older stadium.
