2005 Green Bay Packers Season
The 2005 season was the Green Bay Packers' 85th in the National Football League (NFL) and their 87th overall. It would be the first season the franchise would have involving quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They failed to improve their overall record of 10–6 from 2004 and were ousted from the playoffs for the first time since 2000. It was also the Packers' worst record since their 1991 season. The Packers suffered injuries to wide receivers Javon Walker and Robert Ferguson and running backs Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, Tony Fisher, and Samkon Gado. As a result of the lackluster season, most of the Packers coaches were fired, including head coach Mike Sherman. The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Terrence Murphy (American Football)
Terrence Cardene Murphy (born December 15, 1982) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist. He played college football at Texas A&M University and professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Green Bay Packers. Playing career High school Murphy attended Chapel Hill High School in Tyler, Texas where he had a core GPA of 3.6. He also played quarterback and in his two years at quarterback he passed for more than 2,500 yards, rushed for over 1,100 yards and totaled over 25 touchdowns in combined seasons at Chapel Hill. He was the Offensive 16-4A District MVP in 2000 and signed with Texas A&M. He was the first and only Tyler Chapel Hill player to be drafted in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft. Nicholas Cordell Collins (born August 16, 1983) is a former American football safety who played seven seasons for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Bethune-Cookman, and was drafted by the Packers in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Collins led the league in interceptions returned for touchdowns and interception return yards in the 2008 season. In Super Bowl XLV, he intercepted Ben Roethlisberger for a touchdown as the Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31–25.
